THE BROWNS BOARD

CBS.com Jason La Canfora reports Joe Thomas does not have it in him to ask to be traded. But with meeting in Florida this week, JT would have no knowledge of teams idea of trading him to get offers. Teams that Jason has thoughts on include (31)Denver, (30)Carolina,(60) Patriots,(26) Seattle,(23)Vikings, even Ravens at 6. I had a thought of possible trading him for a younger Moe Wilkerson from Jets. Your thoughts? & if someone could please post article, thanks.

JT may not be around when we are finally competitive, but he may have helped us get there. Rebuild in progress, and he may be worth a ton to a good team.

Purely speculative spit-balling on la Canfora's part. He apparently thinks a late first-round pick is the right price... I don't... and neither did our FO last fall when the trade with Denver was explored.

Thanks for posting T. Thought Jason was right on saying this is where you can find a trading partner as the browns before the draft. With a analytic FO, getting Joe to a winner won't matter, it's highest value in return. Yes most your winning teams fall near bottom of draft, but none of them have any money either. Pending on how quick the top 5 OT's fall off the board may determine Joe's value in Jason's scenario, but every QB don't have a LT as JT. If FO gets this move wrong in return no dumpster is safe..

If Joe moves, then I hope it works out better for him than it did Phil...

If he goes I hope it's somewhere good, a perpetually elite team, like NE or Green BAy. Even Indy, to be fair. Denver will not be the same team unless they pull some QB magic out of the hat (currently John Elway is the best QB in that organisation), for example.
