Ok, bad wording. Any time the name of anything changes it is technically "rewriting history".

I should have asked, is it really that big of a deal? Why exactly do we need to keep the racist landmark names? Just because they're old , because they're our "history"? If that's your answer it isn't a very compelling one. This won't be first, or last, time we change the name if something, and we seemed to come out alright

In Logan County, WV, they had Niggar Bottom because that was where they sent all of the black mine workers. After the end of segregation, the black folks that lived there asked to have the name changed. So the polite locals just changed it to Black Bottom. Progress!

so a historical name of a town means all the people there are racist?

if any/many of those names actually do have racist origins... isn't it better to understand

how far understanding and anti-racial beliefs have come?

or, maybe it's better for liberals to be "victimized" ...to liberals.

Negro is a race like Caucasian...not offensive. Just jump from Negro Creek straight to Black Creek, not necessary to go through the negro, colored, African American, black progression.

Unless they prefer African American Creek.

Cal give me one good reason to keep negro creek going.

Mao, Castro, Stalin... I think you're onto something there.

:)

It was a joke in the first instance, but do you actually believe those people were liberal?

Posted

Of course it's a joke. But yes indeed.

You prefer "progressive ?"

WSS

I would suggest you have a very misguided view of liberalism.

'Main street' is derogatory towards minorities in general.

Heh, everything is derogatory to minorities untl every white person is killed in a Jihad, a home invasion or commits mass suicide.

So while we're at it, for you guys who are offended by this, what's there to be offended about? Is Aunt Jemima portrayed as an unfriendly character at any time? Is she not someone you would enjoy spending your breakfast time with?

And if it's the stereotype that outrages you think about this: how many rap artists, comedians, actors etc are just as stereotypical and use equally, if not more, colloquial speech?

Aunt Jemima pancakes. She must have been a great cook, but probably

didn't want all sorts of additives, artificial colors and preservatives added.

I do have a great pancake recipe now, from scratch. The heck with

the box mixes.

Ah ok so cause it's not quite as derogatory as ngr even though ngr was derived from negro. That's your reasoning.

Negro or Negroid are the proper and commonly used terms for describing this race. What would you call them dipshit?

Posted

the term you reference cleve, is not part of the subject. The slur is what

is derogatory.

Do you find an "n-word town" anywhere?
