OldBrownsFan
Gore should have won Florida. He lost Florida because a couple thousand democratic voters got confused with a butterfly ballot and voted for Pat Buchannan by mistake....I'm glad Gore lost but no way did a conservative like Buchanan get these votes from democrats except they made a mistake We show that the butterfly ballot used in Palm Beach County, Florida, in the 2000 presidential election caused more than 2,000 Democratic voters to vote by mistake for Reform candidate Pat Buchanan, a number larger than George W. Bush’s certified margin of victory in Florida. http://www-personal.umich.edu/~wmebane/butterfly.pdf

OldBrownsFan
Buchanan thought so. I heard Buchanan himself laugh about all the votes he got in that one county where they had a confusing butterfly ballot. Another proven reason though is the votes siphoned away from Gore by Ralph Nader. This is why if this years election happens to be close that a third party candidate like McMullin could cost Trump a state or two. There is no doubt McMullin may at least cost Trump one red state Utah and Trump can't afford to lose any red states.
Pumpkin Eater
But pollsters called FL when only 10% of the vote was in or something. It was way to close to call
Westside Steve
That's only Gore's excuse. Why is it when Democrats lose they want to revote over and over and over and when it's done blame the stupidity of the Democrats for not being able to fill out the ballot. Westside Steve
But the rest of it is whistling past the graveyard. I don't have much confidence in this election especially given the fact that the MSM controls every word we here. WSS
OldBrownsFan
But pollsters called FL when only 10% of the vote was in or something. It was way to close to call I think they called it while voting was still going on in the western part of the state which is in a different time zone. How many didn't vote for Bush after hearing the race was called we will never know. Trump needs to know he is in serious trouble at this point in the race and not blow off so many polls that show Clinton leading and pulling away. Some have tried to make the facebook and twitter argument that Trump has so many more likes than Clinton on FB but I wouldn't put too much stock in that myself. One bad poll could be an outlier but many bad polls for Trump means he has a lot of work to do between now and November.
Tour2ma
Was called early, then reversed, then placed in too close to call... Gore should have won Florida. He lost Florida because a couple thousand democratic voters got confused with a butterfly ballot and voted for Pat Buchannan by mistake....I'm glad Gore lost but no way did a conservative like Buchanan get these votes from democrats except they made a mistake There is a lot to suggest Gore might have won a statewide recount, but that's nothing compared to Nader's Green party total. Some SCOTUS activism is better than others? That's only Gore's excuse. Why is it when Democrats lose they want to revote over and over and over and when it's done blame the stupidity of the Democrats for not being able to fill out the ballot. Someone called for multiple revotes? I fail to see how after the royal clusterfuck that is Iraq anyone other than Cheney can be happy about Bush's victory in Florida.
