For talking about rumors she was not a working model but a high price escort when she met Trump, and that she had a nervous breakdown after she got found out to be a plagiarist. So let's be clear on the precedent the little dyke whore is about to set....in future elections talking about unsubstantiated rumors, like Barack Obama was born in Mecca, will get you sued. A "blog" is no different than talking about that shit here at the Browns board. If she wins that suit, y'all gonna have to check your shit. Insulting her or anyone in DC will likely still be protected speech, but do you see how free speech is gonna be tested here? So talking about unsubstantiated rumors about anyone at anytime and discussing it on an open forum "could" become speech your liable for.

So the guy who ran on the anti PC platform, his wife is going ahead with a libel suit that could make the most liberal campus in the U.S blush with awe. You think shit is PC now just wait.

They shouldn't write fake stories that damage people's reputation. Duh

I'm not in total disagreement with you Ed but careful there will rogers, that knife "will" cut both ways. The non PC crowd is gonna a rooooddd awakening the first time a liberal takes one of em to court for the outlandish shit they say about people daily. Those sub reddits you visit could "easily" be next.

Stuart

Would someone please quote this post or simply tell these two idiots Cleve and Woodley that politicians can't sue for libel, if they could Trump and Hillary could sue each other out of the ying yang.

The reason is that Supreme Court decisions make it extremely difficult for a public figure – especially anyone running for public office – to win a libel case even if what is said about them is false.

What we said in a Special Report in 2004 bears repeating: "Candidates have a legal right to lie to voters just about as much as they want." There is no federal truth-in-advertising law that applies to political ads, and the very few states that have tried such legislation have had little or no success.

Melania is not a politician and not running for office.

Hey Cleve I know you think you are being devastatingly clever and hope to get conservatives to throw a fit so you can screech gotcha at the top of your lungs but seriously bud, nobody cares about this bullshit. Maybe you but nobody with a brain.

WSS

I didn't think u were smart enough to understand the precedent and the ramifications of it. Let alone the utter glaring bald faced hypocrisy of the whole thing

Im all for it tbh. Not because Icare two shits about malaria, but because the #nopc warriors are gonna get a wall check by the legal system. And places likebthe blaze and constitution.com? Yeah that business model is gonna change overnight. No more passing off rumor and innuendo as a legit news story. Those websites will go under because they have no real journalists on staff. The msm will have to tighten up its belts, those little ngr gram pages like constitution are doneso
