THE BROWNS BOARD

Sec of State Choices

Trump's been doing some A/B testing by floating names out there for Secretary of State. Some of the names we've heard include Rudy Giuliani, Mitt "Sore Loser" Romney, and Tulsi Gabbert.

I'm lukewarm about Giuliani. I haaaaaate the idea of establishment cocksucker Mitt Romney, even though it's quite pleasing to watch him bend the knee. And I love the idea of Tulsi Gabbard. Tulsi Gabbard is a Major in the Army and Congresswoman from Hawaii. She's also hot.

During her time in the military she served a tour in Iraq. Her foreign policy positions are as follows.

Iran - she was for lifting sanctions

Iraq - she is against the presence of US troops there, and thinks we never should have been their in the first place

Pakistan - last month she criticized the Pakistani government for being sponsors of terrorism. She wants to increase pressure on them.

Saudi Arabia - Opponent of the billion dollar arms deal because the Saudi government is responsible for the spread of Wahhabism, ISIS' brand of religion

Syria - Opposed funding rebels in 2013, one of three members of congress to vote against carrying out airstrikes, and against Obama's enforcement of a no-fly zone

She is against the TPP, citing the environmental impact

Here is a statement she released after meeting with Trump earlier this week:

http://gabbard.house.gov/index.php/press-releases/655-gabbard-statement-on-meeting-with-president-elect-donald-trump

"President-elect Trump asked me to meet with him about our current policies regarding Syria, our fight against terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS, as well as other foreign policy challenges we face. I felt it important to take the opportunity to meet with the President-elect now before the drumbeats of war that neocons have been beating drag us into an escalation of the war to overthrow the Syrian government—a war which has already cost hundreds of thousands of lives and forced millions of refugees to flee their homes in search of safety for themselves and their families.

“While the rules of political expediency would say I should have refused to meet with President-elect Trump, I never have and never will play politics with American and Syrian lives.

“Serving the people of Hawaiʻi and our nation is an honor and responsibility that I do not take lightly. Representing the aloha spirit and diversity of the people of Hawaiʻi, I will continue to seek common ground to deliver results that best serve all Americans, as I have tried to do during my time in Congress.

“Where I disagree with President-elect Trump on issues, I will not hesitate to express that disagreement. However, I believe we can disagree, even strongly, but still come together on issues that matter to the American people and affect their daily lives. We cannot allow continued divisiveness to destroy our country.

“President-elect Trump and I had a frank and positive conversation in which we discussed a variety of foreign policy issues in depth. I shared with him my grave concerns that escalating the war in Syria by implementing a so-called no fly/safe zone would be disastrous for the Syrian people, our country, and the world. It would lead to more death and suffering, exacerbate the refugee crisis, strengthen ISIS and al-Qaeda, and bring us into a direct conflict with Russia which could result in a nuclear war. We discussed my bill to end our country’s illegal war to overthrow the Syrian government, and the need to focus our precious resources on rebuilding our own country, and on defeating al-Qaeda, ISIS, and other terrorist groups who pose a threat to the American people.

“For years, the issue of ending interventionist, regime change warfare has been one of my top priorities. This was the major reason I ran for Congress—I saw firsthand the cost of war, and the lives lost due to the interventionist warmongering policies our country has pursued for far too long.

“Let me be clear, I will never allow partisanship to undermine our national security when the lives of countless people lay in the balance."

And here is a wikileaks email to her from camp Hillary after she resigned as Vice Chair of the DNC to support Bernie.

Representative Gabbard, We were very disappointed to hear that you would resign your position with the DNC so you could endorse Bernie Sanders, a man who has never been a Democrat before. When we met over dinner a couple of years ago I was so impressed by your intellect, your passion, and commitment to getting things done on behalf of the American people. For you to endorse a man who has spent almost 40 years in public office with very few accomplishments, doesn't fall in line with what we previously thought of you. Hillary Clinton will be our party's nominee and you standing on ceremony to support the sinking Bernie Sanders ship is disrespectful to Hillary Clinton. A woman who has spent the vast majority of her life in public service and working on behalf of women, families, and the underserved. You have called both myself and Michael Kives before about helping your campaign raise money, we no longer trust your judgement so will not be raising money for your campaign. Darnell Strom & Michael Kives

This woman is a badass, and selecting her as secretary of state would be an amazing appointment for the Trump campaign and reaching across the aisle to MAGA. None of Trump's appointments have bothered me so far. If he selects Romney, I'll blow a fucking gasket.

Frankly I have always liked Romney and wondered why he would step so far off the reservation.

I'm guessing that he, like quite a few others, wanted to keep their political careers alive and didn't think there was a chance in hell Donald Trump could ever be elected. Therefore they made the choice to distance themselves as far as possible and that strategy seems to have f***** up.

Without that particular dust-up during the election I think everyone would agree he'd be the ideal choice for Secretary of State. I don't particularly see that position has one that suits Rudy Giuliani, no offense to him.

On the other hand I don't think he will Garner much favor with the left for appointing women Or democrats.

Still I don't think political party and ideology need to be in lockstep and usually aren't.

Case in point Colin Powell who always knew which side of the bread the butter was on.

Romney would piss me off so much.He ran his campaign on being against the establishment, and Romney is as establishment as you can get. He wants to arm jihadists and go to war with Russia. Those cocksuckers who are so deeply entrenched in their own system of bullshit that they've cultivated for decades don't deserve any consolation.

Some here will fall in love with the pick 5 minutes after Trump picks him.

I'm already on board. Time to bury the hatchet. The guys have come to terms and Romney is qualified.

Like Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed after the fight.

Like Obama and Hillary after the campaign.

Like... Well you get the idea.
