EXPOSED: Planned Parenthood sets ‘abortion quotas’, rewards clinics with pizza parties

February 7, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – The latest video in Live Action's new investigative series of Planned Parenthood reveals the company rewards its centers with pizza parties for meeting abortion sales quotas – and institutes a "corrective action plan" when they don't.

"Every center had a goal for how many abortions were done," Sue Thayer, a former Planned Parenthood manager, explains in the video. "And centers that didn’t do abortions like mine that were family planning clinics had a goal for the number of abortion referrals.

"And it was on this big grid, and if we hit our goal, our line was green. If we were five percent under, it was yellow. If we were 10 percent under, it was red. That’s when we needed to have a corrective action plan – why we didn’t hit the goal, what we’re gonna do differently next time."

This video, "Planned Parenthood’s Abortion Quotas," is the fourth in Live Action's series "Abortion Corporation." The series has shown Planned Parenthood employees admitting its name is "deceptive" because they don't promote parenting.

"Ultrasounds for Killing, Not Care at Planned Parenthood" and the accompanying testimony "Planned Parenthood Managers: Ultrasounds for Abortions, Not Care" highlight how Planned Parenthood will only do ultrasounds as part of an abortion – not for women who want to keep their babies. "The Prenatal Care Deception" shows Planned Parenthoods nationwide denying women prenatal care because they "specialize" in abortions.

"I felt like I was more of a salesman sometimes, to sell abortions," former Planned Parenthood nurse Marianne Anderson says in the video. "And we were told on a regular basis that, ‘You have a quota to meet to keep this clinic open.’"

She said the focus of her job seemed to be selling abortions rather than "treating people."

"I trained my staff the way that I was trained, which was to really encourage women to choose abortion, to have it at Planned Parenthood because that counts as – you know, towards our goal," said Thayer, who previously ran a Storm Lake, Iowa, Planned Parenthood.

She said Planned Parenthood would convince women that abortion was their best choice if they couldn't afford to pay for their initial clinic visit right away.

According to Thayer, they would say, "If you can’t pay 10 dollars today, how are you gonna take care of a baby? Have you priced diapers? Do you know how much it costs to buy a car seat? ... Don’t you think your smartest choice is termination?"

In addition to pizza parties, employees could be rewarded for meeting abortion quotas with paid time off or a "clinic manager of the month" award. The latter meant lunch with upper management.

"Planned Parenthood doesn’t have quotas for adoptions. It doesn’t have quotas for prenatal care. But quotas for abortions? Absolutely," said Lila Rose, president and founder of Live Action. "Planned Parenthood makes a profit off women in the midst of their most difficult experiences and incentivizes its staff to take the lives of children in the womb with pizza parties, paid time off, and lunches with upper management. It’s time to redirect our tax money toward local health clinics that actually provide real care to women, instead of to Planned Parenthood, a corporation focused on upping its abortion numbers."

Rose predicted Planned Parenthood would deny these findings, noting that it claimed it had retrained thousands of employees to identify sex trafficking after Live Action caught its workers helping people posing as pimps. Former Sherman, Texas, Planned Parenthood manager Ramona Treviño disclosed that this "retraining" was actually a way in which the abortion giant tried to teach staff to recognize undercover journalists.

One of President Trump's pro-life promises during his campaign was that he will defund Planned Parenthood as long as it continues to commit abortions. Congress is on the brink of passing a bill to redirect the half a billion taxpayer dollars Planned Parenthood receives to women's healthcare centers that don't kill pre-born humans.

Live Action is spending $500,000 to share these video exposés with the public.

I have a hard time taking anything anti abortion from a very pro life site at face value.

Understandable from your point of view but do you think the mainstream media would pursue stories like this? Very doubtful and this is why it is great in this information age to have alternative news sites and to break the monopoly of the MSM...No longer can the MSM get away with leaving out stories or not telling the full story as too many people now can get their news from many different media outlets.

Except I don't see great truth tellers fighting for the story thats bring censored

I see a clearly biased website that most likely skewed, distorted or straight up lies to push their agenda.

Last time this was a big deal it was a bunch of misinformation, edited videos, and court cases that showed no wrong doing.

Major Social Media Site Donating Big Bucks To Planned Parenthood

Maybe we owe thanks to some of these businesses and individuals who are donating to Planned Parenthood.

Thanks… but not our business, mind you.

Thanks, because they keep proving that Planned Parenthood doesn’t need to be in the pocket of the American taxpayer. Government funding is not necessary and the butcher of thousands of unborn infants each year should not be rewarded through tax dollars.

Indeed, there are enough celebrities cheering on Planned Parenthood that if all of them gave from their wealth to back up what they speak of in such laudatory terms, then that would take care of a sizable bulk of funding.

Then there are the corporations, like the social media site, Tumblr.

The upcoming
, an annual music and film festival held in Austin, Texas, boasts Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards and Tumblr CEO David Karp as partner speakers, among
. Coincidence? Not a chance.

On March 10,
and
will
, “Activism, Allyship and Where We Go from Here.” That’s because, as SXSW
, not only does Karp run Tumblr, a
with more than 300 million “creators,” but also he serves as a Planned Parenthood board member.

Last week, Tumblr tweeted out an announcement that they’d put their money where their mouth is and gave big to the slaughter of the unborn.

So many smiling faces, absolutely thrilled to take the burden off of the taxpayers by supporting Planned Parenthood all on their own, I’m going to guess.

On their own site, Tumblr staff
, “Our employees donated, and we’d like to
too, or to
.” Bryana Sortino,
,
on her Tumblr blog, “my heart is swollen.”

And there’s more. According to the
, a David Karp from New York employed by Tumblr donated $5,000 to Planned Parenthood in 2015.

These are sizable amounts given corporately, and personally.

Karp and Tumblr aren’t the only social media giants supporting the atrocious practice of abortion and calling it a women’s health issue.

Facebook and Twitter are also supporters, although none of their CEOs actually sits on the board of directors for Planned Parenthood.

You know, I get that until there is action by the courts to protect innocent life, and until we see a changing of hearts in the culture, abortion is going to be an ugly, gaping wound on the soul of the nation.

Until that time, we keep speaking up and condemning the practice.

We also lobby our representatives in Washington to get the despicable death mongers that make up Planned Parenthood off of the government dole.

Until then, let those who so lustily support abortion “rights” foot the bill at their expense. Not ours.

Fact-Check: Snopes Gets Facts Wrong While Defending Planned Parenthood

Mythbusting website Snopes got the facts wrong while attempting to fact-check recent claims that Planned Parenthood rewards employees for hitting abortion quotas.

Pro-life advocacy group Live Action posted an interview with two former Planned Parenthood employees about whether the organization has quotas for abortions, which make up a significant share of Planned Parenthood’s non-government revenue.

One former employee, Sue Thayer, said that every Planned Parenthood center has an abortion “goal,” and that employees were rewarded with incentives for meeting abortion goals. Thayer said no such incentives exist for Planned Parenthood’s non-abortion services.

A second former employee, Marienne Anderson, corroborated Thayer’s account, saying that she was regularly told “You have a quota to meet to keep this clinic open.”

Pro-life activist Lila Rose, Live Action’s founder, provided as further evidence a certificate awarded to a Planned Parenthood facility in Aurora, Colorado, for exceeding the number of “abortion visits” from one year to the next.

Snopes’ fact-checker Kim LaCapria, who has described herself as “openly left-leaning,” leaned on information from Planned Parenthood in its “fact-check” of Live Action’s claims, which Snopes rated as “unproven.” (RELATED: Snopes, Which Will Be Fact-Checking For Facebook, Employs Leftists Almost Exclusively)

LaCapria cited Planned Parenthood in claiming that Thayer was unsuccessful in a lawsuit she brought against Planned Parenthood for alleged Medicaid fraud. But the lawsuit is still ongoing.

Brian Gottstein, a spokesperson for Live Action, said Snopes did not contact Live Action before running the fact-check, which Gottstein claims is “riddled with inaccuracies.” (RELATED: Snopes Caught Lying About Lack Of American Flags At Democratic Convention)

Live Action posted a strongly worded rebuttal to the Snopes “fact-check” online, noting that LaCapria’s “talking points on Thayer sound strangely similar to Planned Parenthood’s own talking points.”

I didn't realize this, missed it - the gal who is "Roe" in Roe vs Wade...

(real name "Norma McCorvey")... never had an abortion all said and done,

she had the child and put it up for adoption before the Supreme Court ruled.

and later became PRO-LIFE. Amazing.

I saw that too. She found out later how the pro abortion side totally used her to obtain their objectives and she later went on to become a good advocate for pro life.
