Here is a compilation I have done here for many years: The Team of the Decade done after the Patriots win over the Falcons.

Methodology: I count this decade as going from the 2010 season to the 2019 season. We are through to the 2016 season so far. I award points for how far a team goes through the playoffs each year:

10 points to the Winner of the Super Bowl. 6 pts to the loser of that game. 3 points to the losers of the Conf. title games, and 1 pt. to each other team that makes the playoffs. After awarding these points, I simply accumulate them to see who is leading throughout the decade. So, these are the leaders so far:

Patriots.......36 pts

Packers.......20 pts

Seahawks....20 pts.

Broncos.......19 pts.

Ravens.......15 pts

49ers..........12 pts

Steelers......12 pts.

Falcons.......11 pts.

Giants.........11 pts.

Panthers.......8 pts.

Colts............6 pts

Chiefs..........4 pts

Texans.........4 pts

Cardinals.....4 pts

Jets.............3 pts

Bears...........3 pts

Saints..........3 pts

Lions...........3 pts

Eagles.........2 pts

Redskins.....2 pts

Vikings........2 pts

Cowboys....2 pts

Chargers.....1 pt.

Raiders........1 pt.

Dolphins.......1 pt.

Rams/Bucs/Titan/Jags/Bills/Browns -0- pts

Pats have a big lead. It could take a team like the Seahawks or Packers to win the SB twice to overtake them.

Here is the thread I was talking to in reply to Ghoolie in regard to the Steelers being the best team of all time.  Their margin of "victory" over the Cowboys in the 1970s is the slimmest margin for any team to win any decade.  And, as noted, they won two 4 pt. games over the Cowboys in Super Bowls and the Cowboys were only two points behind them in the running for TOD.  Either of those game theoretically could have gone the other way....making the Cowboys the best team of that era.

The second slimmest margin was the 6 points by which the Bears won the 1940s over the Browns.   And, of course, it must be noted that the Bears did play a full 10 years in the 1940s, where the Browns only played 4 years, only being founded in 1946.
