as a unit, I expect their grades go up a good bit.

That offensive line will, by itself, make the offense a much better offense.

Add Njoku to the mix...

Love landmine season..Remember when everyone told John Greco to look out Cam Erving was taking your job? Ok Big John.. Go get you some..Again (might be the best damn RT/G/C we still own?)

Is RT still going to be a problem area?

Do you know the PFF grade of Cam Erving or other candidates for that slot?

Erving played one game.....and the steelers were only half trying, half the time.

Disagree. They sat their main offensive guns, but the full defensive complement was out there. The Browns were just an equal...or better match for them.

Sure... if you consider 13 starts "a lot"... /s

I remember that... best laugh I had in 2016.

Greco's not our "best", but he has been our most versatile and consistent interior OL. Hopefully he'll be so another couple seasons in his reserve role.

Looks like we just tapped another OL developmental player....

...and cut Gabe Wright to make room......

Thanks for sharing that Mud!

Sometimes that kind of guy can pan out. For example, John Greco was a 3rd rd pick for the Rams who only had 4 fill-in starts in the 3 years he was with St Louis. After being traded to Cleveland and starting 0 games the first year here (4th NFL season) - he started 14 games and played well in his 5th NFL season.

I remember way back in 2002 when we signed a guy named Barry Stokes who got cut multiple times elsewhere. He came here at the right time and started for the only playoff team we had this side of 1999. Another example following the lyrics of "Love takes time..."

True, but Greco was on the Rams' 53-man IIRC... Barker (great name for us... :) ) is a 2-yr PS guy.

That said his measureables are decent...

... and FWIW somebody at Bleacher liked him...

Semi-related article...

FYI, the correct answer is, "Yes."

Does John Greco Have a Place on the Browns’ Roster in 2017?
The versatile offensive lineman could be on the outside of the roster looking in as Browns training camp approaches.

DBN has really had the most informative reads in the so-called dead season that I really enjoy. Really hope we get though camp & can start The Re-Fab 5 against a real $hiter's D against the run. The talk is keep 8 or 9 on OL on the final cut down roster? But with the new nfl rules of 2 can come back off IR in one season. Big John Greco would be one I would pencil in allowing time with lisfrac. Certainly would not trade or cut that kind of OL value..Contract up end of this season

If they retain him, then Greco looks like a good candidate for the PUP list.....perhaps he can bide his time there and be a mid season savior.....considering that our OL has been beset with serious injuries on an annual basis....

Its been years since we didnt lose someone vital and then suffer from a complete lack of quality depth.....
