And to be clear, I'm generally not a fan of gov't hand outs, which is why I don't understand why billions of dollars are being dumped into companies who can take care of themselves.

To write a pass for corporate book makers for gaming the system and then unleash hell upon civilians doing the same thing is a bald-faced bias in my book.

You're joking, right? Corporate welfare (needless subsidies) make food stamps and other form of welfare look like a mere pittance. You know that, right? Your paying for mcdonalds twice, once with your wallet, and once with your taxes.

So in your opinion tax breaks and tax incentives are tantamount to welfare, iow giving something to a company or corporation that has no intention of producing anything worthwhile? Now, who is joking?

And no, food stamps and welfare are not a big bite out of the economy.

Just if you double or triple or quadruple the number of people who aren't required to provide for themselves you wind-up with a less healthy populace but admittedly more committed to vote for the party that gives them the benefits.

I'm not joking, giving the richest family in America unfair advantages doesn't help the economy. I have the utmost respect for people who work their asses off and succeed, and don't hold that success against them for one second. what I cannot respect is the obscenely wealthy paying off politicians for special treatment, that's not hard work in my book; it's cheating.

And I'm not joking when I say I have no problem with the US government having United States business interests back.

I would imagine all our competitors do so.

There are elderly and disabled people that need help and I'm glad to see them get help from the government. There is no good reason though why able bodied people should not be required to work for government assistance. Working tax payers are providing that assistance. Also as shown here a huge amount of people will either not apply for the government assistance or drop the assistance if they have to work for it showing they are just taking a free handout and don't really need the assistance in the first place.

Exactly. The number of impoverished people and those on disability and medicaid has doubled or tripled in the last 8 years.

Just like food stamps and other hand outs. No problem helping out somebody that needs it, big problem with dead beats. And that number never seems to get smaller.

There's the difference, you see it as "having their back" I see it as needless redistribution of wealth. Didn't realize you were a socialist.

And I understand for people like you that letting somebody keep their money rather than confiscating it in the form of taxes is generosity. It's not the government's money.

Well that we can agree on, I'm in favor of a fair tax. But if when I file taxes for my small business, I don't think asking the fed to "have my back" will get me anywhere.

I'm gonna get robbed, while the Walton kids who were born on 3rd and assume they hit a triple will get all kinds of preferential treatment. Again, I'm not a big fan of govt handouts, but we might as well be consistent.

Maybe the NFL should have the patriots back and give them the first overall pick.

I don't know what the tax rates are for small business, I'm self employed so I don't get a break but I don't employ anybody either. I understand that some people want to kill the rich and take their money thinking it will make them better but it really doesn't. We could probably triple the welfare food stamp et cetera payments and people are still going to be stupid leeches. And of course some will be grateful and improve themselves so there's that.
