Tour2ma
He's young, he's good... really good... and he's rescinding his recent medical retirement for a congenital neck/spine condition. Second opinions have informed him that so long as he stays clear of herniated discs, his congenital defect is of no threat to him. He'd let Kirk return to the middle... hell... with 130+tackles and being among the league leading LBs in pass Defense, he'd kick Kirk back inside. The Gipper
A. By Kirk I assume you mean Christian Kirksey? I thought he already was "in middle". B. Is this guy better than the people we have at OLB now? Schobert?
Clevfan4life
Im wary of someone that unretired like that. Sounds like a convenient second opinion to get him one more round of guaranteed money

tiamat63
I just saw the article on ESPN and thought he'd be a great addition. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't the Ravens still own his rights?
gumby73
Whats one more pain in my neck watching a Browns game? 1 spot out of our 90 man roster, Orr fits in top 25 of are 90. Bye-Bye 1 Kicker.hell we never had a kicker on roster this time last season..Risky.. but what do we got to lose besides more games..

Correct me if I'm wrong, don't the Ravens still own his rights? They released him after his retirement. Not the wisest decision they could have made. Orr's playing rights cost them zero bucks to hold on to.

I have no problem if he were to be brought in and competed for a roster...or even starting spot. This team cannot overlook good talent....no matter the source IMO. Tim Couch Pulls Out
He's a young, talented player and I would love nothing more than for him to come here and become a dominant LB for 10 years. But your body doesn't magically heal itself of something like that. If he's able to pass a physical, I'd say absolutely. But I'd always be worried he's one hit away from becoming Jason Street. gumby73
Ravens DC for many years is Dean Pees. His base defense is a 3-4. but allows Suggs to roam while McClellan,Mosley & Orr played 3 LB base. Ravens drafted Bowser & Tim Williams to replace Orr..As T stated, Orr even at West Texas has a hell of a nose for the ball carrier, he's only 25,roster-ed at ILB with Ravens but his coverage numbers are outstanding inside or out as a LB. Luke Kuegley coverege good imo

From what I read he never was injured, a congenital spinal curvature was detected that one Dr. thought put him at risk for paralysis. Since then he's gotten other opinions that he is in no such immediate danger, even if he herniated a disc. The danger would rise if he continues playing from that point. It's more than a curvature, it's a spinal curvature caused by a malformed vertebrae. His C1 vertebrae never fully formed. In his retirement speech, he claimed he had seen multiple doctors and spinal specialists who were shocked he was able to play. Even if he's over exaggerating, I'm sure he saw at least two doctors who advised him not to play. I fully believe a person should be able to choose their own fate, so I'm not saying he SHOULDNT be allowed to play. But I just don't see how he went from retiring to coming back at the drop of a hat. What worries me more is his MOTIVATION to return. I keep reading/hearing of the high number of players going bankrupt soon after retirement from the NFL. If this kid is returning & risking his health over finances, that, to me, is a concern & a heavy weight to bear for the Team signing him. I would want to know a LOT more about those "2nd opinions" & check him with a fine toothed comb before signing him. The Browns seem to be regaining respect around the NFL. That respect could vanish quickly with a bad decision here. Mike
