I expect the team is angry, and hungry for a win. I also expect Kenny Britt to actually show up against his old team and grab a TD. I have to hear garbage about why am I a Browns fan day in and day out. 16 years of it. As if these rednecks smiling like village idiots with barbecue dry rub caked on their teeth are somehow superior football fans. Music City Masturbationists. It's a refreshing break from jerks like me who basically think we have zero chance to win a game unless freak accidents happen all 4 quarters and we luck our way to the finish line. We literally can't score. I said after the Colts game that we wouldn't score 28 points again this season, and that game above all else is the one that will haunt us. Sure, the Jets game still stings, but my therapist made me promise not to talk about it, so I won't. Bottom line is we don't score and we don't really have a way of consistently scoring. We have zero WRs, our defense is awful in the red zone, and our offense is worse. Kizer will be so completely gun shy in red zone trips that he won't be able to let it loose and make the play...if he even sees it at all. Once a player gets his confidence shaken, that's pretty much it folks. Remember how Kessler started out pretty well but then got his last concussion and was never the same? Once a young QB gets rocked like that, it's extremely difficult to get mentally checked in. Kizer played his last game scared and it showed. Why would it be any different now? Because he got benched? Honestly I hope so, but we can hope in one hand and poop in the other and see which one fills up quicker. What really hurts is we squandered our defensive touchdown last week. Obviously I know we can't control those things, but we aren't likely to get many more, if any, and it sucks that it came when the game was over. As far as our opponent this week, I officially predict they will completely destroy us. I realize Mariota is banged up a bit, but he will light us up with Delaney Walker to the tune of 140 receiving yards and 2 tds. Our leading receiver won't be a receiver at all, as Duke will have the most yards...mostly coming in garbage time. Kizer will be awful again, but he won't throw the picks this week. He'll just fail to complete 50% of his passes because he'll be terrified to turn it over. We'll be doing the infamous Cleveland Browns passing attack, which consists of throwing it 20 yards horizontally, and 3 yards down the field. We will not attack the middle of the field (like teams do against US btw) and we will basically be converting 3rd down at around 20% for the game. I wish I had better news. After all, the Titans defense isn't great, and they give up a bunch of points. However, nothing cures what ails your defense like playing us. It's not going to be pretty, and the rumblings of yet another regime change will continue to increase in the background, as we trudge our way to once again talking about the draft before the middle of the season.
