Cotton Bowl

Close to half time, I would like to know your opinion, guys.

Darnold has looked awful, the INT I'd say was a great play by the safety, but in the fumble he didn't secure the ball when the pocket was crumbling.

OSU defense is impressive. I wonder how many of them will be in the draft.

OSU's quaterback, J.T. Barrett, looks good to me. He has good stats, he's athletic... I see he's a senior. What round is he going to be picked? Is he good?

Up to a dozen Buckeyes will be drafted off this team.

First rounders? How many, if so?

J.T. Barrett is a good guy, a quality leader.

But he's a 3rd string QB at best in the NFL. I wouldn't be surprised if he's undrafted.

Darnold is a joke. He needs to stay in school and try to keep his starting job. I don't believe if he stays in school he will ever be the starting QB again. Really, the kid is schitting his pants.

Actually the guy who will get drafted highest from draft-eligible defensive players is CB Denzel Ward, who decided not to play to avoid injury.

It looks like Darnald is playing like crap on purpose so the Browns don’t draft him

Darnold looks good getting sacked.  He can throw the pick 6.  He’s a Brown.

did manage to score from the 1, so we might have to hold that against him...

if he can show ability for concussion, then he’ll be a lock at number 1

Your ignorance is only equaled by your arrogance.

USC coaches & players got the extra practices preparing a young bowl team for next season..than, they took the bowl check and looked checked out waltzing out of the tunnel. Granny with cars, was told to flip the big coin, that big coin did not flip once as she tossed it like a shuffle board frisbee..Blame USC coaches but there is no interest in USC playing this game..WR #80, Darnolds only passing target 1st half.Hell he was laughing off his first fumble..He quit than

MEANWHILE  how did OHIO STATE ever lose to Iowa? They should be playing for #1 again.

It can't be expressed enough how much Ohio state dominated the line of scrimmage. I'd say of the 8 sacks maybe one was one Sam, and a lesser athletic dude woulda taken 10-12. I was amazed how fast osu was coming off the ball. It's a completely reasonable statement to say this totally screwed up the QB rythym, no one is immune to that (see Brady in the super bowl against the giants).

That being said, you can see what's to like about darnold. In between bad plays he was throwing dimes all over the field. I can also look past the later fumble when he was trying to make a play. He's also obviously very athletic.

However, the first fumble and interception were lousy. It's tough to look past because the safety wasnt even disguised well and he saw the pressure on the fumble.

Sam is gonna be a top 10 pick in the NFL. Im not sure if he's number 1 overall though.

If they had played the Tide they would have been crushed.

Not this year, ALA wouldn't have even made the playoffs if OSU hadn't slipped up in Iowa.

No. I'll bet the 12-2 BUCKEYES end up #3 or #4 this year......above the Bama guys.Iowa was just a huge trap game and the BUCKEYES fell in or THEY not bama would have been playing for another national championship. Also zero top teams were undefeated this year, not even mighty bama. ;)

There's an old saying mjp about times like this:

"Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience."

Darnold wasn't as bad as this thread would have you believe. But OSUs DL dominated

I don't know that many QBs who would have thrived last night vs Ohio State's defense.

Not only did they produce a ton of pressure from their DLine, but generally shut the Trojans run game down.

I still think he needs another season at USC, though.

The Big 10 plays a more physical game than the PAC 12.

Not only was it evident against USC, but Michigan State owned the line of scrimmage against Washington State as well.

And the Big 10 has done a better job of late getting more athletic players too, so the days of them getting run off the field seems to be in the past.

Even with all of the disadvantages big ten teams face

Such as?

Playing just about every bowl game away from the Midwest.

Academic standards (for some teams)

Lack of bagmen (for some teams)

Less talent rich recruiting region, kind of, mainly due to weather and less time to play outside
