1. The Eagles won their first championship since the 1960 season.    Name the only teams in the 4 major sports that have not won a title any time since the 1950s.   Hints:  there are 5 franchises....and you can ignore the NHL as there are no hockey teams on the list.

2. Name those NFL franchises that have never won a championship of any kind at any time.

3. Tom Brady lost his 3rd Super Bowl.  Name the other QBs who have lost  3 or more Super Bowls.

4. Where did Nick Foles attend college?

5. Who were the other QBs who were the starting QBs for the Eagles in their previous Super Bowls.

6. Foles was a "backup QB"   that won a Super Bowl.   Name the last "backup QB"  i.e.  the QB that did not start the season as a team's starting QB....to win a Super Bowl.

7. Per SB Nation....in addition to Foles and the person in question #6....there were 6 other "Backup QBs"...again...QBs who were not their team's starting QB at the beginning of a season....who also won a Super Bowl game.    Name these 6 QBs.   Also....for extra Brownie points...name the team AND the QB that they were the backup for.

8. In addition to the above Super Bowl winners.....an additional 3 "backup QBs" took their team to the Super Bowl...but lost.  Name those QBs,   and if you can their team...and the QB they took over for

9. Name that Quarterback who has won the most games in his career....but who has never played in the Super Bowl game.

10.  Name the   5 QBs who have THE best regular season winning percentage in history.  Hint:  4 of the 5 HAVE won Championships...and the other did start a Super Bowl...but did not win.

Interim report.    It is early...but I will narrow this down a bit, reciting those still unanswered questions:

1. Besides the Hawks/NBA,  Kings/NBA, Cards/NFL, Indians/MLB....what is the one other team that has not won a title since the 1950s (that existed back then)

2. Besides the Jags, Panthers, Bengals, and Texans.....what is the one other team NFL team that has never won a championship in their history?

4. Where did Nick Foles attend college?

6. Before Foles, who was the last "backup QB"...i.e. the QB that was not the team's starter at the beginning of the season....to win the Super Bowl?

7. Besides the answer to #6....and Doug Williams, Roger Staubach, Trent Dilfer, and Jim Plunkett....what two other "backup QBs" ...QBs that did not start the season for their team....took their teams to a Super Bowl victory?

8. Besides Earl Morrall....what two other "backup QBs"    ...as previously defined....took their team to a Super Bowl but lost?

10.  Name the 5 QBs with the all time best regular season winning records.  Hint:   4 of 5 won championships...and the other lost a Super Bowl.

I'm drawing pure blanks on that one......good questions.

Here is some post Super Bowl Trivia....actually covers a number of areas:   Give a try:

Answers:

1. The Eagles won their first championship since the 1960 season.    Name the only teams in the 4 major sports that have not won a title any time since the 1950s.   Hints:  there are 5 franchises....and you can ignore the NHL as there are no hockey teams on the list.

In order:  1947 Chic./St.L/Ariz. Cardinals NFL.   1948  Cleveland Indians,  1951 Rochester/Cinci/KC/Sacramento Royals/King;   1957 Detroit Lions;  1958 St. Louis/Atlanta Hawks

2. Name those NFL franchises that have never won a championship of any kind at any time.

The new teams:   Jaguars/Panthers....in existence since 1995.  Texans, in existence since 2002.  The old ones:  Minnesota Vikings. In existence since 1960. Cincinnati Bengals in existence since 1968

3. Tom Brady lost his 3rd Super Bowl.  Name the other QBs who have lost  3 or more Super Bowls.

Elway and Tarkenton 3 each.  Jim Kelly 4.

4. Where did Nick Foles attend college?

University of Arizona  (Tuscon)

5. Who were the other QBs who were the starting QBs for the Eagles in their previous Super Bowls.

Ron Jaworski in the 1980 season.  Donovan McNabb in 2004?

6. Foles was a "backup QB"   that won a Super Bowl.   Name the last "backup QB"  i.e.  the QB that did not start the season as a team's starting QB....to win a Super Bowl.

Tom Brady....2001.   Drew Bledsoe started the season. Brady came in.

Besides Foles and Brady you have:

Kurt Warner...Rams....replacing Trent Green

Trent Dilfer...Ravens...replacing Tony Banks

Jeff Hostetler...Giants...replacing Phil Simms

Doug Williams....Redskins....replacing Jay Schroeder

Jim Plunkett....Raiders...replacing Dan Pastorini

Roger Staubach....Cowboys...replacing  Craig Morton..### see below.

8. In addition to the above Super Bowl winners.....an additional 3 "backup QBs" took their team to the Super Bowl...but lost.  Name those QBs,   and if you can their team...and the QB they took over for

Vince Ferragamo...Rams....replacing Pat Haden

Earl Morrall....Colts....replacing  Johnny Unitas   (though Unitas did come into the SBIII to replace Morrall at half time)

Craig Morton....Cowboys...replacing Roger Staubach ###

###Note the irony.....one year..1970   Morton replaces Staubach as starter....takes the team to the SB and loses (to Colts).  The next year....Morton starts the season....but then Staubach replaces him and takes them to the SB and wins...over Dolphins in 1971.    After that Morton is shipped out....but then Morton leads the Broncos to the SB....to face the Cowboys lead by Staubach....Staubach wins.

9. Name that Quarterback who has won the most games in his career....but who has never played in the Super Bowl game.

Philip Rivers   110 wins.    Next on this list are:  Warren Moon...105 wins, then Dave Kreig..101 wins

10.  Name the   5 QBs who have THE best regular season winning percentage in history.  Hint:  4 of the 5 HAVE won Championships...and the other did start a Super Bowl...but did not win.

Not sure why no one tried to answer this question....it should not have been extremely hard overall.  In order they are:

Otto Graham  .788

Tom Brady  .774

Daryl Lamonica .753

Roger Staubach .733

Joe Montana  .711

As noted....all won championships except Lamonica....who did start for the Raiders in SB II
