Camp Edmunds at #4

He's a tackle-for-loss machine.  Last guy like that was Khalil Mack.  Mack wasn't a pass rusher out of college but had the potential.  Same as Edmunds.  This guy is 19 and already dominant.  With more experience he looks like a perennial All-Pro.  Freak athlete.  6'5", 250 lbs. with sideline to sideline range and the power and arm length to take on O-Lineman.  Can flip his hips and cover.  Not projected to go top 5, but some team is going to get a steal.  He's in on every play.  Would be fan favorite right away.

Tackles-for-loss is an underrated stat.  Khalil Mack had the most all-time in college.  At Buffalo, Mack was strictly a bull-rusher.  But his potential was undeniable.  Just like Edmunds.  Don't pass on this kid.

Taylor Decker would disagree with you.  While I'm at it, as  would every other scout on this planet including myself that saw possibly one of the most technically refined pass rushers to enter the draft in a long while.   Kahlil was one of the few that actually had a couple moves in his arsenal - go look up his pressure rate from his rookie year.  It's hard to believe those numbers.

I love Khalil Mack.  I didn't remember him having a ton of pass-rush moves in college, just that he was a freak athlete who dominated lower-level competion.  Ohio State game aside.  That said, Edmunds looks legit.

Then you didn't watch him.

Also you're comparing Kahlil, a 2pt OLB/DE to Tremaine, whom I'm currently watching vs Clemson right now - and is deployed in a completely different manner being that he's a completely different player.

How in the crickey Shmuck did you even come up with this comparison other than just seeing the TFL numbers?

Forget Mack, what do you think about Edmunds?

I'm 2 minutes into my first game with him...  I'll get back to you in a week or so.   Between a family member dying, the flu, work, etc etc... I'm back logged AF right now.   I'm still trying to get my Barkley piece done.

Best of luck.  Any initial thoughts?

Duly noted.  If you are an actual scout, is Edmunds worth the #4 pick?

If you look at what the Browns have at LB, I wouldn't take Edmunds @ #4.  We're going to be counting on Garrett and Ogbah to supply qb pressure, and the defensive secondary is higher priority. With a couple guys rated just as high at their respective positions.

Wouldn't Edmunds be a perfect long-armed inside linebacker who disrupts passing lanes, covers tight ends and running backs and stuffs the run?

Schobert made the pro bowl and there are much more pressing matters. There is no FS on the roster, the corners are subpar, Coleman is made of glass, Gordon can't stay off the weed, etc. Linebacker is not high on the glaring needs.

Would take Chubb 8 days a week over Edmunds right now.    Or probably any linebacker for that matter.

Wouldn't Edmunds make the LB corps the best in the division?  He seems like a perfect fit at ILB.  Making plays all over the field, against the run and pass.

You're the scout.  Is Chubb a bigger Mack?

Its Big Mac ....come on man get your burgers right

the top two choices have to be dramatic impact players. as in, dramatic improvement to your football team.

Edmunds is very, very good - but adding a FS/CB/QB (the right ones) would be far more dramatic than adding a lb,

due to serious needs.

if our plan was to replace Collins this season? Than maybe Edmunds would be in the mix of need with Fitzpatrick or Upgrading Ogbah/Nassib with Chubbs. Edmonds looks to be a better depth role behind Collins beating out Burgess but not at #4 .Hokies Bud Foster defensive coach maybe the best of molding a kids defensive talent I've seen. Edmunds is a young 19 yr. old freak watching alot of ACC. Again were watching a Highlight reel. If ya watch his Full game Lowlights tape, watch for his some times wrong guessing by losing track of ball or ball carrier over his coverage assignments.Smooth deep drops but sometimes leaving to much cushion in front of him.I'd  at times question that hip flip.ACC has not been known for TE coverage experts..When he gets to big leagues. TE will see some real TE's

Anyone concerned about the idea of using the 4th overall pick on a 19 year old?

Of course it's all a crap shoot, but man, 19?

I feel you on the age thing.  His production is legit at 19.  The kid is a proven player with unlimited potential.  His athleticism and body type don't exist really at LB.  He's a match-up nightmare.  Plays sideline to sideline, stuffs the run and flips his hips in coverage.  6'5", 250 lbs.  He's 19 and could anchor the LB corps until 2030.  Worth the #4?  Yes.

We play defense with 10 guys.....and Peppers in punt return formation.  If we were to go D at #4 I would HOPE it would be for the FS so as to bring Peppers up closer to the LOS where he was effective in college.

Fitzpatrick is projected to go #4 but he's not a pure center-fielder like Malik Hooker last year.  Edmunds can make plays all over the field with ideal size and speed.
