Repayment of Bailout Funds?

Recommended Posts

Everything was just so perfect under T's republican rule,

Whatever happened to those good old days????

We had politicians in office who believed in Free Enterprise, and didn't want to take control over every aspect of business with telling ceo's how much money they were allowed to earn and etc.

we-are-all-socialists-now.jpg

Back in the days of the Joe the Plumber fiasco, we were told that it is not Socialist to “spread the wealth around.” Vice President Joe Biden declared that “(Obama) is NOT spreading the wealth around,” after inquiring as to whether he was even being asked a serious question.

Now, NewsWeek declares (in their cover story) that we are all Socialists now. I’m a bit confused about this. Does that mean that it’s now okay to admit that spreading the wealth around is Socialist?

You know the STUPID theory that Obama is turning our country toward socialism is the most illogical connections only STUPID people would insinuate.

Thats right I said STUPID..... Look up some economic statistics or hell even read some basic economics text books readily available at any book store.

our total gross GDP last year was around 14.3 TRILLION dollars give or take, the "socialistic" spending was Mandatory spending: $1.788 trillion (+4.2%)

thats appx 13% of our GDP....... Thats not anywhere near the socialism boogey man.

here is some interesting DISCRETIONARY SPENDING.....

$481.4 billion (+12.1%) - Department of Defense
$145.2 billion (+45.8%) - Global War on Terror

That is of course after the HUGE entitlements to medicare that BUsh and the republicans put thru of course...... and obviously our GDP was greatly depressed well because of the RECESSION.....

This is such a Retarded line of reasoning compared to the reality of economics.... Not to mention the percentage of "socialized" industries under Federal oversight and control currently is under 2% of ALL private industires operating in our country.

Seriously SHUT UP with this stupid fear mongering based on ignorance.

Right....it isn't there yet...that is the point.

What is healthcare going to cost and how is it going to impact the numbers??

The numbers you post don't include what the president is proposing over the next 4 years.

Oh....none of your links work.

And really....military spending is a social spending when you are talking about a socialistic form of government. The USSR spent money on national defense.

come on Peen even factoring in another 2 trillion dollars in overall government spending for healthcare does not mean we are privatizing industry like Venezuela.....

My links... seriously i was not trying to link so just wikipedia it... or hell any cursory google search or even the gao or any government site will lead you to last years info.

This whole socialism crap when less than 2% of all industry is currently under federal oversight is insane plain and simple. I am a practicing capitalist that employs people in different companies. I am always looking to expand efficiently, I pay 80% ofall health care benefits of every employee that works for me.

I dont worship Obama and quite frankly am very worried about inflation ..... but i realize he did not create this WE all did including clinton era congressman clear back to Reagon.

This is a screwed if you do and screwed if you dont scenario for Obama, no one should like everything that has happened with federal interventionism. Unfortunately if we want to live the way we do than we had to do SOMETHING and to little is just as catastrophic as doing nothing so they erred on the side of caution and did anything and everything they projected and than some.

This whole fear mongering and frankly hate spewing about socialism and brith certificate crap is like old Mcarthyism..... It is ignorant, not based in reality and stupid.

If the right wants to focus their critiques they need to get their own house in order first than come back to the people about SMART/EFFICIENT government which means SMALLER federal overall imprint but one that actually works. They are not, they are just spewing political crap attacks and spreading fear mongering bullshit about socialism and the "big bad" government....

I am all for efficient smaller federal oversight that actually enforces fairly laws all ready on the books rather than expand to more bureacracies... the right is not really preaching that, they are just politicizing and spewing garbage fear mongering.

The biggest comment or point I heard the President make this week is something Peen and I have discussed a little bit in here is the abuse of emergency rooms by the uninsured.

The President made the point that everytime someone with no insurance walks through the doors of an emergency room it costs taxpayers $1000.00!

If that was eliminated through health insurance reform that in and of itself would pay for proper healthcare for all americans who need it.

Actually I think he was right on the money for a portion of that speech.

He lost me when he flatly said no torte reform and didn't demand individual contribution.

We have, and it is a problem.

My wife is in the hospital business, and i have spoken to more than a couple of hospital administrators over the years....and it is a BIG problem.

I am not against providing a healthcare package.

I am against funding it in a manner that the people who get it don't pay at least enough to make it as big as a sacrifice as those who are gainfully employed have to sacrifice.

I am not talking dollar amount...just the same sacrifice.

Anybody on welfare can come up with $100 a month if they really want to....I am just against free anything unless it is sex or a sample at the fast food restaurant. ;)

peen that last post is something you and I COMPLETELY agree with. almost everyone can come up with at least 1 dollar or 100.... something. Those COSTS which I have been screaming about are dictated by whom?...

That is the place Obama needs to start BEFORE talking about public health care plans.
