Sorry for the Luck!!..

You realize Cleveland didn't win any championships in what...um like 47 years......

and if you think Lebron is gonna stay in that town (after this year)...you are sooo wrong....

Lebron wants to brand himself with clothing line, shoe line, record label, on, and on, and on.....Lebron will be more then just the NBA...for him...he wants and has the chance to hit the really big time....$$$$$

NYC is the only place for him...and he knows it........

Giving him a broken down Diesel is soo not the way to keep him in Cleveland.......enjoy the last year swan song...then its the bright lights of Broadway....

You are forgetting that LeBron got to this level by growing up in Clevelands little sister community of Akron Ohio. He didn't go away to some fancy Ivy League school or big name college and return to his hometown, he never left, and today is already one of the biggest athletes in the world and #1 in the NBA ..... it sounds like NY needs LeBron, not the other way around.

HahA ... silly NY Knick fans.

It's not going to be about Basketball for him..alone...

Wall street is there, fashion district is there... record labels are there....he is going to go after all of it.....

B-Ball will just be part time income for him...after next year...

So you can take the little feel good story about Lebron and his rrots in Akron..and pretty much blow your nose with it....

Nice story but DMS!....(Don't mean Sh*t)

The kid played basketball his entire life, it is basketball that got him where he is today, and when he is on the brink of winning an NBA Championship or a string of them, he tosses his dream aside for Wallstreet, the fashion district and a recording label ... lol, silly knickerbocker.

No need for him to toss his dream aside....

He'll win one with Chris Bosh in NYC...in 2011...

Are you really that f.ucking stupid? Have you paid ANY attention to Lebron James since he became a household name as a junior in high school? Everything he does is all about his roots. In Akron! Where was his MVP announcement done? In his high school gym. Who does he surround himself with? Childhood friends! For you to say that his roots mean nothing to him has got to be about the dumbest thing I've ever read on this board! Lums has never even said anything that dumb!

As far as him going to New York is concerned...The only way he ends up in New York is via Brooklyn...as in the Nets moving to Brooklyn. He wants to win championships. The Knicks are not even close to that level. The Nets aren't really either, but he has a little more influence with them.

And, finally, about all the "other" crap you mentioned. He already has a shoe deal. He already has a clothing line. He doesn't need to live in New York to benefit from Wall Street or from recording studios. He has stated that he wants to be a billionaire. Well, no other team in the NBA can offer him more money than the Cavs can. And his incentives with Nike to move to a large market have already been voided. Not to mention the Cavs new minority ownership deal. There is no bigger market in the world than China! With them in the fold, his marketing overseas just skyrocketed.

If Lebron James leaves Cleveland, he would be turning his back on his roots, his fans, his family, and the most money! Not many people would ever do that!

Freaking Knicks have been sitting on their hands for three years waiting for a pipe dream, while other NBA teams have been doing all they can to compete for the title. James wants a title. If he can go anywhere and win one, he'd stay here to do it.

From the outside, no one would go to NY at this time. They are the sorriest excuse for a franchise in today's game.

It's a different World today my friend, with the Internet, and jet planes wisking you anywhere in the world you want to go, there is no need to be standing on top of the empire state building to capture the world, you can do it from anywhere.

Besides, he has bigger sights set than New York City, he's thinking Worldwide; Nike & USA Basketball will take him there much sooner than a mediocre New York hasbeen team with a bumfuck owner.

He don't want the ugly girl who sat home for three years gluing pictures of him up on her wall like a stalker, he wants the hot chick that is an eye catcher and sporting the title ring on her finger.

Compete for the Eastern Conference Championship and you might turn heads ... but right now, New York is the ghetto of NBA cities.

Agreed, on mis managment over the last Isiah debacle...buthear this....D,Walsh has cleaned out ...and I mean cleaned out the salry cap room for the 2010 free agent market...not team in the NBA will have more dough to throw at Lebron and Bosh togther...........NYC is the international launchpad of the world...do you know the international flavor that's in NYC...every walk of life from everywhere....... agreed,we got one more year to grind out.......then the shopping starts, and the titles roll in......The Cav's had their chance, but were too stupid in not getting Lebron anyone as a sidekick...Moe (three stooges) WIlliams........was the best they can do??...no finals in the last 2 years.....nahh, He's out July 1 2010...hey!...less then a year now..

Cavs are actually in good shape come 2010. Shaq has only one year left, dumbass! He'll be a free agent after this season too. Maybe you should look a little further into the Cavs' payroll. They already cut $29mil from this past season. And Z is also entering his last year. That is another 11.5 off the payroll. They drafted wisely for the future to keep the payroll down for next year's free agency. In fact, they only have a little over $18mil committed for 2010. It jumps to $20.2mil with JJ Hickson's team option. I like what the future holds in C-town. Lebron resigning and Chris Bosh joining him! Odds are better that those two team up in Cleveland than in New York.

As far as your marketing argument, I am not arguing that Cleveland is a better marketing city than New York. I said there is no bigger market than CHINA! Even New York cannot compete with the marketing opportunities in China.

Oh, and by the way, He's already one of the most recognizable athletes in the world. Even playing in little old Cleveland.

Yes, athletes have turned their back on their roots and fans and cities and families...but only to take more money...not less!

I went a little further. I decided to look into the Knicks payroll and roster for 2010. Right now, you have nobody even guaranteed to be on the roster in 2010. There are 2 players with team options, one with a player option, and 2 restricted free agents. Sounds to me like the Knicks have a GREAT foundation to win a championship!! LMAO

Yes...they have money available! That is for sure! But, they have nothing to add players to!

If they do retain all the players, with their options, then their 2010 payroll currently would stand at $25.6mil. With the Cavs at $21.2mil, I like the Cavs chances a lot better!

There is NO WAY, you can sign Bosh...he's gonna want the big time deall, and the CAV's can't do it...you are still gonna be one player (Big time) short to win a title.......Alway's the case in Cleveland...

and what is the connection to CHINA via Cleveland...some ownership thing...??/big deal, do you think all of China is getting on board because of that?......I don't think so...

They;ll get on board when Lebron is with a big time team struttin thru China town in a Knick jersey......

and go check out hoopshype online...you'll gt the salary cap breakdown by team....Knicks payroll is 18 mil this time next year...40 percant goes to Lebron, 30 to Bosh, 10 to Steve Nash or J Kidd, and the rest goes to whatever they have......which will equal about 5 or 6 title runs.'

Here is a better picture.

Without exercising team options.

Cleveland - $18,828,223 - M. Williams, D. West, D. Gibson, D. Jackson

New York - $18,160,263 - E. Curry, J. Jeffries

Any way you look at it, Cleveland is in better shape to sign Lebron and Bosh. If you add in the team options for both teams, The Cavs gain JJ Hickson and their payroll jumps to $20,357,143 and the Knicks add Gallinari and Chandler and their payroll jumps to $23,595,304.

Team options or not, the Cavs have the advantage. Do you really want to keep debating this? If so, please show me some proof of your case.

just read this......and he don't sound like the loyal kid from Akron now does he.

Lebron James was sporting a grey Yankees cap Sunday when he said he doesn't know if he'll sign a contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer.

His fashion statement and his neutral statement about his future will cause many sleepless nights for members of the Cavs' organization and their fans and continue to fuel speculation that the NBA's reigning MVP will leave his hometown - and perhaps sign with the Knicks - following the 2010 season.

"I don't know," James said Sunday in Cleveland. "I haven't thought about it just yet. I'm just going to take time off from basketball and not think about contracts or the game, period. I'll relax with my family; we'll figure out once it comes from them."

Now there's a vote of confidence huh....

Back to the Yankees cap thing. He's been a Yankees fan his entire life. And a Cowboys fan too. Does that mean he's going to sign with the Mavs? Uhh...No!

And of course he's going to say "I don't know." He'd be giving away leverage if he told the media what way he was leaning.

Well, they can re-do his money now...so if they don't sign him to a new deal....in this off season...it's

adios, Lebron......and I said this before....if you have a girlfriend who responds that way....your on borrowed time dude...she's bailin soon.

As a Cavs fan, I would love to see him sign an extension for obvious reasons. At the same time, if he did that, then I wouldn't have the opportunity to debate the topic with the likes of you for another year before he signs a new deal with Cleveland anyway. So...it's a win-win for me. Lebron ends up in Cleveland either way...unless of course Danny Ferry goes and does something extremely stupid between now and next year. But if the Shaq deal blows up, Lebron can only blame himself. He pushed for it to get done. Danny has to add another player or two, but htis team has the foundation to be contenders for a long time and Lebron knows it. He also knows that the Knicks are a long way away.

Dude if you have to sign a contract with your "girlfriend", she is called a prostitute. If it requires re-negotiating in the middle of the "relationship" it is probably because you didn't tell her upfront about your boyfriend and the open sores.

Obviously you've had women ditch you after they thought about what they were actually dealing with. And you obviously have a problem with people who don't make decisions before the options are even on the table! The Cavs have not yet given him their offer. They have not even discussed an extension yet. What part of that is so hard to understand? The quote says "once it comes from them." It doesn't say "I need time to think about what they are offering." If you were under contract at your job, and your contract was coming to an end if it isn't renegotiated, would you agree to stay before you even heard the company's offer? Uhh....nope! If you would, then you really are a dumbass! But I don't think you would. It's hard to find people that stupid!

Even people on the Knicks forums aren't as deluded as this clown.

http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378665

From this thread, which, to emphasize, is on a Knicks forum.

i'm sick and tired of this lebron/bosh/wade/amare 2010 threads why don't u concentrate on now and stop day dreaming

Bosh is a definite IMHO. Toronto is not a place for basketball and NY looks awesome from Toronto. But LeBron is another story.

I don't think we even should be worried about 2010. It's not like Lebron said, "In 2010, I'm a knick".

Its known that Lebron and Chris Bosh want to play together, though it hasn't been set on which team. I know NYC would be a very appealing market, but if we're not in the position to sign both of them, due to the salary cap, why wouldn't c-bosh just go to the cavs to join bron bron? They'll have the salary cap space to sign both. Thats why we need to get competitive, and soon

To drive it home, that is a Knicks forum. Like every team forum, it's usually a place where fantasies abound and are generally accepted as truth until proven impossible. The people on that forum, Knicks fans, don't seem to think it's likely, referring to it as the '2010 sweepstakes.' I don't know about you, but I haven't had great luck with sweepstakes; in fact, the odds are very slim that one would win. These Knicks fans seem grounded in reality; perhaps you should do the same.

Dude!,

you don't clear out all that cap space for nothing.....just wait...

and if you think the old man diesel is gonna take you to the promise land....take a look at how he helped take phoenix to the playoffs.........another wasted year for Lebron,

He'll be good and ready to pack up the bus and head EAST!l

I'll concede this. They *do* intend to do something; i.e, sign LeBron and Bosh. What will they be able to do? ENTIRELY different question. If we win, no chance LeBron leaves.

Phoenix is an entirely different beast. It was simply not fitting into their style. When you have a run & gun offense, a mountain won't help you. The Cavs, with a much more half-court style, can make it work much better than Phoenix.

Z's contract is also coming off the books next year. We could probably use that in trades. Not only that, he's actually a serviceable player. Trade bait.

Just Shaq improved us; if you deny that he will give us more than Wallace and Pavlovic, you're deluded. However, we're not done making moves. Ariza, Artest, and Sheed, though already offered a contract, could all defect to the Cavs.
