I'll give you a true fer instance. In the Lab I worked in- we had a Doctor who when you first met and talked to him came off as sort of a goober. Never said a word about himself, but over several months I got this second hand from my coworkers. Lance went to Stanford Medical School. Impressive. Yeah, Lance also got a full free ride to Stanford Medical School. Say WHAT?  BTW, Lance also had the highest score in the country on the MedCats.  Makes perfect sense now.

Oh, I am well aware of the property damage lawsuit. I live in Pittsburgh and there is a radio in my car.... I've Heard enough about it to, well, renew my subscription to Sirius XM.... because music is music. Oh how nice it is to hear some music every now and then. Your bet is incredibly safe with Tour, but I don't think the condo furniture lawsuit has anything to do with it. The league doesn't seem to care nearly as much about personal property damage as it does about sexual and abuse scandals. I can't fault them for that though, as I personally see sexual assault and abuse cases far more important than a property damage case, even if it is just a civil suit.

I've read many different stories, and many different opinions on whether or not AB is guilty or being set up for this. Screenshots of messages, the exact timing of everything that has transpired. It all matters not, in terms of football (Whether you think this is fair or not is a separate argument). The league generally plays it safe when it comes to this, and keeping the possibility of a commissioner exempt list on the back burner while AB is a free agent is, i would say, almost a guarantee that no team will sign him until this lawsuit is over and the league has 'finished' with their investigation (the league isn't going to finish until the federal civil suit has been settled).

 

 

# Edit: I may add, there is more than one accuser as well. It wouldn't be unheard of for additional accusers to come forth, and additional lawsuits to be filed. This could go on for... well sorry Tour that you're going to lose this bet... years. Even ones who haven't been assaulted or harassed may try to get in on this. And by no means am I sticking up for AB and saying he is innocent. I, as anyone else, know almost nothing in terms of facts regarding the current lawsuit. Well...I agree with the guy that reciting facts that can be looked up does not take smarts.  (but...doing "research" is what smart people do when they are looking for information).  But, it is certainly not smart when presented with the facts to deny their existence...or to take some revisionist history associated with those facts. 

Also, Larry, on a side note associated with that geographical issue we discussed.  Correct me if I am wrong, but you seemed to say that we could not include the Canton and Akron titles in with Cleveland titles for purposes of determining which titles were won by "Cleveland teams". (though can I assume you would still include  the Cleveland Bulldogs and Cleveland Rams titles?).  

But, here is the thing.....  I had said that if you say that, then by rights, if Akron/Canton is considered a separate geographic entity...titles earned there not capable of being  claimed by the Greater Cleveland area, then also by rights  IF the Cavaliers had won  a title when they had played at the Richfield Coliseum, then Greater Cleveland could not have claimed it either, as Richfield IS a suburb of Akron.  (despite the team's name).  I know this for several reasons:    I was for a time the Magistrate for the Richfield Mayor's Court, and that court was under the jurisdiction of the Akron Municipal Court (not Cleveland/Cuyahoga County).   Also, the local High School is the Revere school district (which is a combination of both several political entities...Bath Twp. Richfield Village, Richfield Twp. plus a bit of Fairlawn and a bit of Copley....and it plays all AkSummit/Medina area schools, though it may also compete against Brecksville .

Of course, it is superfluous, as they never did win until they went downtown. 

But, I still think the DMA approach is best.  (it is, after all what the leagues go by in their marketing concepts. )

IF the Cleavland Cavaliers had won a title, in Richfield Coliseum, I personally would count that as a greater Cleavland title. It doens't matter where the title was won, so much as the team was based within the greater Cleveland area. Of course, "based" could mean many different things, but if they were based in Richfield, wouldn't they have been called the Richfield Cavaliers? I'll refrain from Steelers talk here, but the Pens won their fifth stanley cup in Nashville in 2017. They weren't the Nashville Pens, they were the Pittsburgh Pens. Point is, I don't think it matters where the team plays at or won at, it is where they are based at. And in this case, the Cleveland Cavaliers were "based" in Cleveland. Marketing concepts matter.

Yes, you have experience in that area. Lawyers are obligated to zealously represent their clients, and generally do that very well. This does not negate the fact that there are some lawyers who represent their clients so zealously to the point in which they may twist the facts in their favor. Maybe you were one of those lawyers at one point in time, I do not know. You have however demonstrated that is well within your capabilities in your interactions with me over the past few days.

Well I have issues with Ambulance Chasers Gip. I admit sometimes it's legit, but all too often I'm hurt, somebody owes me a ton of money. We have an ongoing case in Dayton where the police shot and killed a guy in a Wal-Mart, brandishing an air rifle- the police told him to drop it- nope? Sorry you're dead. The family is suing everyone and everything for wrongful death. When I was up in Cleveland for the Redskins preseason game this guy Tim Misny had billboards all over the city. "I'll make them pay". We have a legal group in Dayton about the same. Elk & Elk are statewide, and they're primarily in the same racket. Only time I've ever though about suing anyone was when I bought my house- the owner hired a fly by night unlicensed plumber who did a shoddy repair job-and I specifically put in the sales contract what needed to be done. I eventually had to correct that crap on my own- in today's dollars it was probably around $3,000 bucks worth of repairs.

PS if some of you haven't noticed, I deleted a bunch of the personal attacks. If you want to call someone an asshole, there's the Political Forum where it's open season on that kind of stuff. I'll tolerate some, but when it goes over the top & persists- it's gone.  Just a friendly reminder.

AB's deposition in the furniture tossing case was today. There's now some video footage out of it. I'm sitting back and grabbing some popcorn for this.
