Now that sports betting is legal in all 50 states interest in wagering on NCAA and professional football is growing like never before.

From CBS.......

With a majority of the Week 6 college football schedule comprised of must-see conference matchups, there are several double-digit college football lines that bettors could attack. The biggest mismatch among conference opponents is No. 6 Oklahoma vs. Kansas, where the Sooners are favored by 32 points, one of the largest college football spreads of the week.

Other lopsided college football lines include Georgia vs. Tennessee (+25), Ohio State vs. Michigan State (+20) and Oregon vs. California (+18). Whether you're searching for value in a game like one of those or trying to make the call on a tight matchup like Auburn vs. Florida (+3), getting unbiased college football expert picks can go a long way. Before locking in any plays, be sure to see the Week 6 college football best bets and top predictions from SportsLine's Barrett Sallee.

College football heads into fall this week with some tasty conference matchups on tap as we near the midway point of the season. A pair of critical Big Ten showdowns are on tap as well as a top 10 showdown in the SEC. Plus, there's some critical rivalry matchups that could shape the top 25 and conference races down the stretch. Where should you invest your money?

Let's take a closer look at the Week 6 matchups of importance with the latest lines from Vegas Insider and Circa Sports.

Lines you need to know

No. 7 Auburn at No. 10 Florida (+2): Auburn made a statement last week in a big win over Mississippi State while Florida cruised against Towson. Even though it's been dormant, this rivalry should provide plenty of fireworks in its first edition since 2011.

No. 15 Iowa at No. 19 Michigan (-7): The Wolverines got back on the winning track last week vs. Rutgers, while the Hawkeyes had no issues with Middle Tennessee. Michigan can't drop its second Big Ten game of the season if it intends to contend for the division and conference titles.

No. 25 Michigan State at No. 4 Ohio State (-19.5): The Buckeyes will burst into October with a big Top 25 matchup against a ranked Big Ten foe. The Spartans defense vs. Justin Fields and the Buckeyes offense should be fun to watch -- especially with such a big line.

No. 3 Georgia at Tennessee (+22): This game used to matter in the SEC East race, but now Vegas thinks the same way that most of us do -- this will be no contest. It will still be a hostile crowd on Rocky Top, which will give the Bulldogs offense something to work on at least.

No. 11 Texas at West Virginia (+10): The Longhorns have had two weeks to prepare for the Mountaineers, but the Red River Rivalry with Oklahoma looms next week. Could this be a trap game? The spread suggests that oddsmakers might think so.

Purdue at No. 12 Penn State (-22): The Nittany Lions' defense has been solid all year, and their offense came alive in Friday night's win over Maryland. Can a disappointing Boilermakers offense get right and keep up in a shootout?

California at No. 13 Oregon (-16.5): Cal fell to Arizona State on Friday night, and has to travel to Autzen Stadium in what feels like a must-win game if the Bears want to win the Pac-12 North. Meanwhile, the Ducks can make another statement if they light up the solid Bears defense.

No. 18 UCF at Cincinnati (+3.5): The shine has worn off the Knights after falling at Pitt two weeks ago, and now they have to face a hungry Bearcats team that wants to make a statement in the AAC. If you're into Group of Five games, this one's for you.

Best of the rest

Yes and no......sorta'.

 ......The Supreme Court of the United States lifted the federal ban on sports betting on May 14, 2018.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled that the PASPA was unconstitutional because it infringed upon states' rights......

As a result, states are free to decide whether they want to pass legislation to legalize sports betting.

Yes it is legal to have sports betting in all 50 states depending on if and when states like Utah do it.

42 states (84%) have at least started the process the other 8 will eventually realize that they are missing out on extra state revenues and probably will do it........ similar to the state lotteries now.

OK Gip you make me do extra homework.    <_<

(No date on this.)

.......Despite the fact that lotteries provide a great source of government revenue for state programs, especially education, and a great amount of fun, there are 8 states that currently do not have state lotteries. The states that currently do not have lotteries are: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. It is evident why most of these states continue to resist implementing a state lottery. For example, in Alabama, Mississippi and Utah, there is considerable religious opposition to all gambling. In Nevada, the casino industry opposes the lottery because of the competition it would create. Both Alaska and Hawaii are isolated from other states and therefore need not worry about losing money to nearby states. Lottery supporters in all eight of these states remain hopeful that a state lottery will eventually be put into place. If this happens, these 8 states could not only create their own exciting lotteries, but also participate in multi-state games such as Powerball and Mega Millions......

~~~~~~~~~~~
All BUT Utah, Alaska and Wyoming have however started the sportsbooks process and are are seriously considering it now that many states are up and running and raking in the cash. Pride and religious beliefs don't pay the bills and every state is trying to get by now with budgets.
We'll see how long it takes to get legalized gambling in all 50 states.
One other thought New Jersey has passed Nevada in sports betting and unlike before this supreme Court ruling.
ALL nongambling states are bordered by gambling states people might just say "road trip" and take a casino holiday similar to what Nevada had and go spend their money in a neighborhing state.
That won't fly forever.
Yes...it is now not prohibited from having sports gambling....but it is still not legal until enabling legislation is passed.
Yes.  If you think you can open up your own sports betting place that would be illegal unless it's under some state control.
And 42 states have sports gambling or it's in the works  and that number might be 47 before too long the last 3 will probably capitulate and join in.......or miss out on millions in revenues.
Another thing if 42 or 47 or 50 states get sports betting you might hit an oversaturation point and those great revenues will probably decrease.  HOWEVER the problems with gambling addictions and related financial fallout from it will undoubtedly increase.
Some people should never gamble it's a very tough game and most of the time people lose money, casinos don't. I've seen it I'm really careful with my money but I enjoy a small amount of lottery or football. Some people blow paychecks.
I've always told young people "don't bet the rent and grocery money unless you like to be wet and hungry".
Where do you fall on the control.....Lottery Commission, or  Casino Control  Commission?  I guess that is the holdup.
I come down on the side of the Casino Control.  I think the sports books should only be managed at casinos....or maybe racinos.  I would not want every fucking Tom, Dick, or Mary who sells lottery tickets to be involved in sports wagering.
I would want it like they do in Nevada:   A casino set up, with big screens to watch games....and to show odds and other results.  Where you could spend an afternoon...betting on games or hitting the slots in between.   (and yes....for this afternoon, you set a budget and you do not overshoot it.)
These turf wars can border on just stupidity and egos at times and can unnecessarily delay things getting done.......hey that kinda' sounds like politics today.
I think that the casino control would be better period besides the lottery commission has their own domain already running the multimillion dollar Lottery games.  If you're interested go to the ohiolottery.com and check the daily or drawing date payouts and see how much money they payout each day or drawing it's huge. Remember too they take in at least what they payout or more on each game. Leave the sportsbook business to the casino guys.
Whenever there is money involved especially big money there will be differences of opinions on how to run things.
I moved to WV. Fanduel lets you make bets here. It is run by Greenbriar casino. Draftkings is run by Hollywood casino in Charlestown
The phone or device must have location settings on and in WV when the bet is made.
You can also go to the casino on bet there
You can put your money in the toilet and flush.....it's easy and quick also. Seriously though have a good budget and decide if you want to bet and how much before you start.
Never go double or nothing if you start losing or you can get in over your head........ advice for anyone.
