mjp28
So how many of you get into backetology? The popularity and TV viewership is growing every year. March Madness has become one of the most popular sporting events in the United States. Because of the length of the tournament and the number of teams involved it is one of the most popular sporting events in terms of television ratings. One event associated with March Madness is filling out the brackets. It has become extremely common in popular culture, even among non-sports fans; it is estimated that tens of millions of Americans participate in the contest every year. Mainstream media outlets such as ESPN, CBS Sports and Fox Sports host tournaments online where contestants can enter for free. Also, there are many sites that cater to corporate marketing and public relations to get in on the excitement such as BigTourney.com. Employers have also noticed a change in the behavior of employees during this time: they have seen an increase in the number of sick days used, extended lunch breaks and even the rescheduling of conference calls to allow for more tournament watching. There are also many handicappers and pundits which offer advice for winning your bracket. ESPN already has sample 2020 brackets out for you bracket gurus. http://m.espn.com/ncb/bracketology?src=desktop&rand=ref~{"ref"%3A"https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F"} CBS has theirs out. http://m.espn.com/ncb/bracketology?src=desktop&rand=ref~{"ref"%3A"https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F"} It will not be long until the biggest tournament in sports is here. The Gipper
Well then.....with no Tournament, a National Championship can still be declared the old Fashioned way (the way they did in football for most of its history).......via a Poll. There is nothing prohibiting them from declaring a National Champ, is there? Here is the last AP poll, and maybe this is it: 1 Kansas (63) 28-3 1,623 1 2 Gonzaga (1) 31-2 1,547 2 3 Dayton (1) 29-2 1,505 3 4 Florida State 26-5 1,381 4 5 Baylor 26-4 1,337 5 6 San Diego State 30-2 1,279 6 7 Creighton 24-7 1,154 7 8 Kentucky 25-6 1,118 8 9 Michigan State 22-9 1,023 9 10 Villanova 24-7 1,011 11 11 Duke 25-6 990 10 12 Maryland 24-7 924 12 13 Oregon 24-7 892 13 14 Louisville 24-7 768 15 15 Seton Hall 21-9 727 16 16 Virginia 23-7 586 17 17 Wisconsin 21-10 539 18 18 BYU 24-8 537 14 19 Ohio State 21-10 459 19 20 Auburn 25-6 453 20 21 Illinois 21-10 263 21 22 Houston 23-8 179 22 23 Butler 22-9 165 24 24 West Virginia 21-10 159 22 25 Iowa 20-11 109 25 So, Kansas would be champ.
