The Gipper
I hear that some of College Football's most long standing rivalries will end their streak of playing: South Carolina/Clemson.....have played for 111 consecutive years. Not this year. Georgia/Georgia Tech....something like 80 plus years ending Florida/FSU 62 year streak ending. Here is a list of longest rivalries in college football from a reddit article. Longest Continuously Played Series in Major College Football , it appears that nobody on the internet has a list of the longest continuously played series. I thought I'd do some research to come up with a comprehensive list, and I found that the longest continuously played series are: Wisconsin vs Minnesota: 1906-present Clemson vs South Carolina: 1909-present Ending Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State: 1910-present North Carolina State vs Wake Forest: 1910-present Kansas State vs Kansas: 1911-present Mississippi State vs Ole Miss: 1915-present Ohio State vs Michigan: 1918-present Minnesota vs Iowa: 1918-present North Carolina vs Virginia: 1919-present Indiana vs Purdue: 1920-present Georgia vs Georgia Tech: 1925-present Ending USC vs California: 1926-present Notre Dame vs Navy: 1927-present Ending?? Illinois vs Northwestern: 1927-present Texas vs Oklahoma: 1929-present Army vs Navy: 1930-present USC vs UCLA: 1936-present Georgia vs Auburn: 1943-present Alabama vs Tennessee: 1944-present Baylor vs Texas: 1945-present Miami vs Cincinnati: 1945-present Ending? Washington vs Washington State: 1945-present Oregon vs Oregon State: 1945-present Vanderbilt vs Tennessee: 1945-present USC vs Stanford: 1946-present USC vs Notre Dame: 1946-present Ending? New Mexico vs New Mexico State: 1946-present Stanford vs California: 1946-present Arizona State vs Arizona: 1946-present Nebraska vs Kansas: 1906-2010 Texas vs Texas A&M: 1915-2011 Missouri vs Kansas: 1918-2011 Pittsburgh vs West Virginia: 1943-2011 All the ones in blue already ended due to conference moves. One note: Apparently Kansas is the king of college football rivalries, as they were tied for having the longest streak before Nebraska bolted, currently have one of the longest streaks with KSU, and had another lengthy series with Missouri before they left.
