The Gipper
OK, so one single pre-season game has been played which means now is the time to predict the entire course of the upcoming NFL season. Right? Yea, sure. Why not. What the hell. Take a shot in the dark. Here is one prediction on which teams will make the NFL playoffs this year: NFC East: Giants NFC South: Falcons NFC North: Bears NFC West: Cardinals NFC Wild Cards: Eagles and Panthers AFC East: Patriots AFC South: Titans AFC North: Steelers AFC West: Chargers AFC Wild Cards: Dolphins and HOUSTON! (my boldest move is this last one by saying that the Colts and Ravens will not make it and the Fins and DATs will) Though the Browns will be more competitive, they will not be a playoff team. (Just cold reality, folks)
blowe
I think Buffalo makes it this year, not Miami. And then Im calling a surprise here, Im going to pick Kansas City to beat out the Chargers in the West. Havent followed the NFC too closely in the off season but I think the Packers will overtake that division. Bears may make the wildcard but i think the Pack will make it. Good first assessment though, smart and safe. What leads you to believe KC is going to the playoffs? Not ripping on your assessment, just wondering
hammertime
If Larry Johnson plays and shares carriers/catches with Jamaal Charles I think they'll have a good to above average running game. With that said, adding Cassel and Engram to Bradley/Bowe will give them a decent WR core. The defense will be the key, I think the ne w coaching and management will turn KC around. It's my 'sleeper team' for 09. If not, then the Browns I wouldn't be surprised if KC has the #1 draft pick next year.
Dave
NFC East: Cowboys NFC South: New Orleans NFC North: Bears NFC West: Cardinals NFC Wild Cards: Minnesota and New Orleans AFC East: Patriots AFC South: Indy AFC North: Browns (what kind of fan would I be if I didn't pick my team) AFC West: Chargers AFC Wild Cards: Steelers and Bills I saw a stat somewhere that said that since 1990-something, 5 new teams make the playoffs every year. -db
Dave
And the Browns beat the Bears in the SB, with a market of 400 people outside of the Midwest watching. The commish declares that only one team outside of the BCS AFC/NFC East can play in the Super Bowl again.
Bob806
I really don't care who wins other than the Browns, but here goes... AFC North-dreaded Pittsburgh AFC East- New England AFC South- Tennessee AFC West- San Diego Wild Cards: Indy & Jacksonville Browns: thinking 7-9 now, hopefully better than that...gotta stop the run or 4-12 is looming again NFC North- Minnesota NFC East- Dallas NFC South- New Orleans NFC West- Arizona Wildcards: NYGiants, Atlanta
Fred Garvin
NFC East: Giants NFC South: Falcons NFC North: Bears NFC West: Cardinals NFC Wild Cards: Eagles and Saints AFC East: Patriots AFC South: Titans AFC North: Ravens (no disrespect to this forum) AFC West: Chargers AFC Wild Cards: Colts and Steelers Worst records: Lions and Broncos. Both 2 - 14.
The Gipper
NFC East: Cowboys NFC South: New Orleans NFC North: Bears NFC West: Cardinals NFC Wild Cards: Minnesota and New Orleans AFC East: Patriots AFC South: Indy AFC North: Browns (what kind of fan would I be if I didn't pick my team) AFC West: Chargers AFC Wild Cards: Steelers and Bills I saw a stat somewhere that said that since 1990-something, 5 new teams make the playoffs every year. -db You may want to revise your choices as you have the Saints making it twice, both as NFC South champs and as a wild card. Nice trick if it could work. Somehow, I don't think the league will approve that arrangement however.

Guest Aloysius
NFC Wild Cards: Eagles and Panthers Both teams have already been hit hard by injuries: Philly inside backer Stewart Bradley tore his ACL, and Carolina lost space-eating nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu. And it looks like the Panthers may have lost Steve Smith - he was just carted off the field after suffering a shoulder injury.
