Today in the Big Ten:

Indiana 38  Michigan 21

Iowa  49  Michigan State 7

Maryland  35  Penn St.  7   near the end of the 3rd qtr.

Could Indiana and Maryland actually be OSU's biggest competition this year...or Northwestern or Purdue?:

Indiana 3 0 3 0 111 77 2-0 1-0 Won 3
Ohio State 2 0 2 0 90 42 1-0 1-0 Won 2
Maryland 1 1 1 1 48 87 1-0 0-1 Won 1
Rutgers 1 1 1 1 59 64 0-1 1-0 Lost 1
Michigan 1 2 1 2 94 89 0-1 1-1 Lost 2
Michigan State 1 2 1 2 61 111 0-1 1-1 Lost 1
Penn State 0 2 0 2 60 74 0-1 0-1 Lost 2

I didn't watch the early games but wow the big guns go down m, mst and psu.

Indiana has been improving but Iowa was good.  Right now nobody is in OHIO STATE'S class.

Iowa lost their first two games

College or pro I think the lack of regular training has affected the play of the teams.  Plus college lost their easy warm up games.  Pros are getting hit with injuries.

How does Harbutt still have a job?

Because the expectations of the Michigan program have been "lessened" somewhat.  It is sufficient if they lose like only 3 games.  I have always said the following:  If it were not for the Ohioans associated with the Michigan program, they would be on the level of Indiana.     Well, that is now bearing fruit.
