I agree, I am almost always on the "Let the QB sit as long as possible" bandwagon.

Dwayne Haskins, for example, had zero chance at success being rushed like that.by Washington. Immature, raw kid given the keys to the family car right away is a recipe for disaster!

Same for Johnny Fn Football. Two years too soon out of CF. He could have learned a lot more about reading defenses with those two more years. And he was not even close to ready for the Browns to throw him in over his head.

Yeah, well, that's your opinion, man. 😉

Good news, he didn't learn much of anything from year 1 to year 2 in college station.  So you don't have to sweat the whole scenario of "what could have been" had he stayed.

You are correct. And since Sumlin has gone on to get fired by Arizona now, you are likely right on whether 2 more years would have done anything other than maybe more mature. But of course he could have also just fallen further into alcohol. Who knows for sure.

I think they went into the season with Teague slated to be their main guy and it took half the season for Sermon to emerge. At least l think that’s what happened. And by half the season l mean like 3 games.

Announcers have said both this and last game that when Sermon arrived as a transfer he was running tentatively... was thinking and not reacting to openings.

Then a switch flipped late in the season and wha-lah...

He could have learned that heavy partying was a bad idea for an NFL qb. That was his major problem.
