OconRecon
Multiple sources saying Cribbs is looking good. Also, Quinn is with the first team and DA looking good in game simulation. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/rapid-reports/team/CLE : Tuesday, August 18, 2009 10:01:05 am Browns QB Derek Anderson is looking sharp in game simulation. If he doesn't perform well Saturday night against Detroit, he will likely fall behind Brady Quinn in the fight for the starting job. 9:56:36 am Rookie WR Brian Robiskie has picked up his production in recent practices after a dry spell. It will be considered a disapointment if he doesn't earn significant playing time this season. 9:55:54 am Browns QB Brady Quinn is practicing with the first team, as are rookie C Alex Mack and TE Robert Royal. 9:39:20 am As he did yesterday, Browns veteran WR David Patten returned to practice today after starting it working with a trainer. Patten must begin contributing on the field or he will be in danger of not making the team. 9:26:23 am WR Josh Cribbs continues to make headway in his bid for a starting spot. He just snagged a long TD pass in 1-on-1 drills. 9:17:16 am Browns OL are working on their drive blocking, which needs improvement based on Saturday's shutout loss at Green Bay. The OL struggled to open holes for the RBs. 9:11:03 am Four Browns are on stationery bikes and not participating in practice. They are NT Shaun Rogers, RB Jerome Harrison, OL Ryan Tucker and LB David Bowens. WR David Patten is working with a trainer and could join the morning session. 9:02:05 am The sizzling heat of Monday has given way to more moderate temperatures at Browns camp today. 8:55:06 am The Browns have signed WR Paul Raymond, who spent part of last season under coach Eric Mangini on the Jets practice squad. Raynond is sixth all-time on the Brown University receiving list in both catches (116) and receiving yards (1,800). http://twitter.com/DawgScooper : Cribbs continues to impress at WR 2 minutes ago from TwitterFon Steinbach is playing left tackle on Thomas' abscense 12 minutes ago from TwitterFon Rogers, Hubbard, Harrison, Patten, Bowens, and Tucker are riding bikes and working with trainers. OconRecon
Who is this RB Jennings? Reportedly has good burst. DA is pissed. Quinn throws a TD in 2-minute drill - FINALLY. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 10:44:42 am Browns QB Derek Anderson is steaming - and it has nothing to do with the weather. He came off the field swearing after overthrowing WR Lance Leggett, who he complained ran the route incorrectly. The two spoke congenially after the play. 10:42:45 am Something Browns fans hope to see often this year: QB Brady Quinn just fired a long TD pass to WR Braylon Edwards in the two-minute drill. 10:41:01 am Answering Matt's email question about Shawn Rogers: He might get special consideration from coach Eric Mangini because of status, but don't sweat it. He won't need many reps to be ready and his attitude seems fine. He can be babied a bit because he's probably their best player. 10:28:30 am PK Phil Dawson just executed the perfect onside kick - it took one bounce into the hands of Mike Adams. There was only one problem; the Browns were offsides. 10:13:30 am Since missing two days following a wisdom tooth extraction, Browns rookie RB James Davis hasn't shown the explosiveness he displayed early in training camp. 10:12:54 am DB Coye Francies remains one of the most surprising players in Browns camp. He just blanketed a WR and knocked away a pass in game simulation drills.
Guest Aloysius
Steinbach is playing left tackle on Thomas' abscense 12 minutes ago from TwitterFon On Saturday, Steinbach played LT with the 2nd team for one drive. If Thomas misses time, it looks like Steinbach will move over to LT and Womack will play LG. Either Tucker or Hadnot could then play RG.
OconRecon
DawgScooper: Both Quinn and DA had turns with 50 sec left at their own 12 and Quinn got picked and DA did not get a first down. Boo Practice is wrapping up. I will inform everyone when my report is up on the site. 6 minutes ago from TwitterFon
Guest Aloysius
Who is this RB Jennings? Reportedly has good burst. Last year, the Browns tried out a guy named Chris Jennings. Could be the same guy.
Guest ATENEARS
Again, don't put much into the one-on-one match-ups, The QB's take forever to make a throw and the WR have a huge amount of time to make cuts and gain seperation. The DB's have very little chance to stay with there man for that sustained time. If you read that a DB was 'blanketing' a WR, but the WR caught it for a 45-yrd TD ... the DB actually won that round. It's a terrible drill to provide Twitter play-by-play for, as it don't nearly tell the story.
DeadWombat
10:13:30 am Since missing two days following a wisdom tooth extraction, Browns rookie RB James Davis hasn't shown the explosiveness he displayed early in training camp. Thats it!..... The teeth were the source of his talent. Those Bastards!
