Supposedly an annoucement by dinner.

He has successfully avoided the hard work all of the other NFL players put in prior to the start of the season.

ESPN's Schefter reporting it right now. Not supposed to be ready for Week #1 against Browns.

Source: Favre Expected To Sign With Vikings Today Reporting

Mark Rosen MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ―

A high-level source with the Minnesota Vikings tells WCCO-TV's Mark Rosen that quarterback Brett Favre is expected to sign with the team Tuesday.

Favre is on currently on his way to Minneapolis and is expected to sign with the team this afternoon, the source said.

In late July, speculation that Favre would be joining the Vikings roster abruptly ended when head coach Brad Childress said the quarterback would remain in retirement.

On July 28, Childress said that he received a phone call from Favre Tuesday afternoon and that the quarterback will remain retired.

Sage Rosenfels actually looked good in the Vikings' first preseason game (10/13, 91 yards). I guess Favre saw that and decided he had to screw things up.

This was a smart play by the Vikings and Favre. They kept the press off Favre while he rehabbed and got ready and the team got rid of the distraction. Now I know the media made a huge deal out of everything Favre so I am not sure why he is to blame for that. The man wantsto play and he is to blame for the circus? All the bad feelings towards him are difficult for me to understand. He didn't invite the mess and I don't ever remember him being a media whore. He will start week 1. 12M says so.

Man is this getting old. I used to like the guy, not anymore.

If he's on their roster, he starts vs. the Browns in the opener- we gotta beat his @#$

With my Grandfather being on the Marshall plane back in Nov. 1970, usually I get bothered by plane crashes mixed with sports, and plane crashes in general.

I don't know, I just didn't get that feeling this time.

Holy shit your grandpa was on that flight?

does this mean we have a chance of winning that game ?

Not if we can't stop Adrian Peterson.

Funny though, Brett has always stated he hates playing in domes, now he gets at least 8 games in one.

Man I don't get the angst. He didn't create the circus and as with all things media (see Quinn sending hand signals) nobody knows the truth. Favre didn't call these guys and give false info. They called him everyday. He answered their questions and told them the truth. They ran with the story not Favre. And he has always said he could have handled GB better.

The guy is one ofthe best to play the game and I for one enjoy watching him play.

I just don't understand the diva comments or all the shit he is taking. I think it is great for Minn if this is true and they now have INSTANT credibility I'm the NFC as contenders!

Right.......the man has played the game hard for 17 years, owns most of the records for QB's, and is footballs Ironman. But yeah he hasn't put in the work. Okay.

Bullshit! He created this circus the first time he pulled this shit in Green Bay, telling them that he couldn't decide if he wanted to play or not, all the while leaving GB to figure out if they needed to draft his replacement. In that very same year he called a press conference in his hometown, and when all the media arrived he changed his mind and told them he had no idea why they were all there. He is a media whore and has been since the first time he decided to play indecisive. He decided he was bigger than the game and that it was all about him.
