calfoxwc
Voight: Is Obama creating a civil war in America? Inside the Beltway column By Jennifer Harper INSIDE THE BELTWAY (Contact) Originally published 04:45 a.m., August 21, 2009, updated 10:13 a.m., August 21, 2009 document.write(''); CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE A Hollywood conservative has headed East. It's "Freedom Concert" time for Jon Voight. The Academy Award winner will join Sean Hannity in Cincinnati and Atlanta this weekend to honor fallen soldiers and present college scholarships to surviving children. Mr. Voight -- a warrior himself in many ways -- has been cogitating about the state of America, meanwhile. "There's a real question at stake now. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?" Mr. Voight tells Inside the Beltway. "We are witnessing a slow, steady takeover of our true freedoms. We are becoming a socialist nation, and whoever can't see this is probably hoping it isn't true. If we permit Mr. Obama to take over all our industries, if we permit him to raise our taxes to support unconstitutional causes, then we will be in default. This great America will become a paralyzed nation." Be outraged, Mr. Voight advises. "Do not let the Obama administration fool you with all their cunning Alinsky methods. And if you don't know what that method is, I implore you to get the book 'Rules for Radicals,' by Saul Alinsky . Mr. Obama is very well trained in these methods," he continues, citing a television campaign critical of the Republican Party and contentious town-hall meetings about health care reform. "The real truth is that the Obama administration is professional at bullying, as we have witnessed with ACORN at work during the presidential campaign. It seems to me they are sending down their bullies to create fist fights among average American citizens who don't want a government-run health care plan forced upon them," Mr. Voight says. "So I ask again. Is President Obama creating a civil war in our own country?"
Mr. T
I watched a small part of the Jon Voight interview this morning, the man sounded like he was pissed off! and he has a right to be. Will we see a ripple into Hollywood? I would bet that their are many more actors and actresses that have similar feelings over Obama. Its Obamas Chicagoland thug politics in DC that is driving a rift between many Americans, Obama will not stop at anything so he can get his programs in plaace and continue with his manipulative takeover of all commerce and control every step we have to take as citizens. Behaviorism was invented for the training of animals. Now it's used to raise children and manipulate spouses. And our fearless leader is deliberately using it to consolidate his power, advance his agenda, and create new social norms. This should give you a serious case of the creeps: Two weeks before Election Day, Barack Obama's campaign was mobilizing millions of supporters; it was a bit late to start rewriting get-out-the-vote (GOTV) scripts. "BUT, BUT, BUT," deputy field director Mike Moffo wrote to Obama's GOTV operatives nationwide, "What if I told you a world-famous team of genius scientists, psychologists and economists wrote down the best techniques for GOTV scripting?!?! Would you be interested in at least taking a look? Of course you would!!" Moffo then passed along guidelines and a sample script from the Consortium of Behavioral Scientists, a secret advisory group of 29 of the nation's leading behaviorists. The key guideline was a simple message: "A Record Turnout Is Expected." That's because studies by psychologist Robert Cialdini and other group members had found that the most powerful motivator for hotel guests to reuse towels, national-park visitors to stay on marked trails and citizens to vote is the suggestion that everyone is doing it. "People want to do what they think others will do," says Cialdini, author of the best seller Influence. "The Obama campaign really got that." The existence of this behavioral dream team — which also included best-selling authors Dan Ariely of MIT (Predictably Irrational) and Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein of the University of Chicago (Nudge) as well as Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman of Princeton — has never been publicly disclosed, even though its members gave Obama white papers on messaging, fundraising and rumor control as well as voter mobilization. All their proposals — among them the famous online fundraising lotteries that gave small donors a chance to win face time with Obama — came with footnotes to peer-reviewed academic research. "It was amazing to have these bullet points telling us what to do and the science behind it," Moffo tells TIME. "These guys really know what makes people tick." Mr. T
Really, and you wont see one progressive/socialist trying to deny this either. they want to pretend that their movement is not so cynical. In their land of Sugar Plum fairies and candy cane dreams is their Savior, "Obama" what they fail to do is the research behind the man. If they did they wouldn't act like they do, they would be appalled by his presence. But who knows maybe they are just as guilty as obama and hate America for all she is and want to change her to the way that they were taught in school by socialist/liberal teachers. Whats coming for America under Obama is not good.
Guest mz.
Umm, folks, Behaviorism wasn't "invented" to train animals, it was discovered through experiments using animals (Pavlov's dogs ring a bell?) and applied to humans via Skinner, Watson, etc. Much like how scientists discover cures for diseases today. The techniques been used quie successfully in behavior modification therapy (elimination of phobias and a lot of other stuff) for decades now. I'm pretty sure the Obama campaign didn't harness its power to treat us like animals. This assertion is not only laughable but borne from some of the most manipulatative propaganda held over the heads of the ignorant/scared/paranoid I've seen on this board. Pathetic, really. Pick up a book or a Freshman Psych course sometime. Or just do a ten-second google search. You people will believe anything a cal email forward tells you. Now THAT'S sheep, hiwaygal. WPB Dawg Fan
As I have said from the beginning.... If you are a Republican and believe all Democrats are Socialists/Marxists/etc....you are a sheep If you are a Democrat and believe that all Republicans are Rich/Elitest/etc...you are a sheep If you are unable to make up your own mind and NOT see that both parties are nothing but bitter siblings squabbling over who gets the last piece of pie...you are a sheep However, if you are a liberal or a conservative, and still have the ability to recognize the GOOD points in both parties...then you actually have a functioning mind and won't follow.....BAAAAAAA So, instead of name calling, why don't we all try and understand that NEITHER party is THE ANSWER.. rather, BOTH are just opposite sides of the same problem (in most cases). They aren't governing us or representing us....they are playing the power game and WE are the only losers.
Guest mz.
YOU will believe everything the Obama administration tells you.... BAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa right back at you baby. I'm not a Democrat, and I'm incredibly well-read in the art of propaganda (Noam Chomsky, not Karl Marx). Essentially, you have no clue what I believe. If you think you have an idea, please lay it out here for me. I'll be honest and tell you if you're close. If not, take that all-inclusive thinking elsewhere (may I recommend one of cal's Tea Parties?).
Guest mz.
Yeah, because people here want to discuss Chomsky vs. Buckley. They wanna discuss Obama Death Panels, Beckian principles and lame-o poll numbers. I guess I need to take it or leave it. It won't work on me any more. Boo hoo. Chicopee John
I wouldn't say that if falls on Obama, personally, but the current policies of government intervention, government intrusiveness (sp), and government control is leading us that way. It is anybody's guess how far this might go-I believe the 2010 elections will temper this a bit - but, as I have been saying for some time, historians will not be talking about THE Civil War but will talk in terms of Civil War I and Civil War II. Maybe The Big Civil War and The Little Civil War. It's maybe a 10% chance but I sense the momentum building. I am not sure where it will stop. Chicopee John
I will restate my sincere fear that he might be the Anti-Christ. Two States in the Middle East and a Third Temple would do it for me. In the meantime, I won't fall on the spear for this thought, but I am watching with open eyes. The two-party system not only castrates us, it is the way for the rich and powerful to control. Control the political process and, thus, control us. calfoxwc
Again, I do wonder about a third party, like an "American Patriot" or "American Eagle" party. I understand that "that would just hurt the Republicans", but I'd rather help our country. It would appear that there are congresspeople on both sides of the political membership that would fit the bill - like blue dog Dems and moderate, conservative Reps. But the drastic change of direction by the Obama admin and "devil dogs Dems" in Congress... is really worrying Americans all over our country. And some wonder what is really behind it. Not good. calfoxwc
I don't excuse any career bashing by anybody, and DH goes off to far sometimes, granted. Guest mz.
I was letting Dan know he wasn't being sincere about serious conversation. Let's be honest. For the most part, this is not the place to come for serious conversation.
calfoxwc
Go re-read your posts, I figure you deleted them out of embarrassment, as well you should have. I can have serious conversations, like I have on the MidEast with Al. But usually, the attacks start, the name calling starts, and I give up pretty quick. So, Dan, why don't you stop your incessant trouble making, and just talk? That is, instead of getting all cranky and smart ass over some threads you don't like the subject of. You reap what you sow, what goes around comes around, you can lead a liberal to water, but he won't drink it because he didn't approve of the making of the pond. But seriously, Dan, if you are ever in town, come on down and visit us on the farm, and we'll show you around.
