Dem switches to Republican party over laundry list of issues — has message to liberals on the fence

Certainly that would be heartening news if it weren't from Fox. I don't particularly distrust Fox reporting but I realize that it does have a certain focus.

Kind of a contrast from Republicans Jumping Ship because they didn't like Donald Trump's personality one would hope that Democrats abandoning their party is a reflection of the failures of the liberal agenda that Joe Biden is Faithfully carrying out. At least during the Trump Administration the country was booming regardless of his hair color or tweets. Fake Republicans bailing on those issues will always puzzle me.

I tore up my D card, I've always considered myself as a moderate D.

I just can't go R though.

Really no place for moderates anymore it's weird.

I was in the same boat as you.

I never wanted to be a Republican, but the way the Democrats want to flush this country down the toilet is unacceptable to me.

There are less than 5 Democrats that would catch my vote these days.

there are zero dems worth voting for these days.

The days ofJFK are long gone. the democrats are no longer

an American political party.

and some reps are cowardly weasels. Like anthony gonzalez and rob portman.....to name two.

Are there any specific reasons as to why?

Because they are a combination of pussies and RHINOS that refuse to unite and stand up to demonrats isn't a good enough reason!

There's a few reasons why. If I list them then this thread will explode with debate & anger.

I do think the Rs are better at foreign policy generally. They also were more frugal or budget saavy at one time but that disappeared. Steve LaTourette, an ex-Congressman in Lake County said it best....he didn't run again because the Rs left him, which sounds like my attitude with today's Ds...link below.

you lost me again. lol. who is responsible for gridlock? the dems are in complete control for the most part, of both house and senate and wh....

and you are complaining about gridlock?

er....

the dems are screwing up our country, damaging our country. Period. They did it in a large, large group.

complaining about reps is silly. Pres Trump was a GREAT president for America. Plain and simple.

It does not matter WHO runs as a republican - the 99% corrupt democrat socialist party will try to destroy that person, no dishonest tricks barred.

"we don't like Pres Trump/Desantis/anybody's personality because the msm told us so" will come to fruition. You watch.

"Pres Trump is so divisive"...

and obaMao wasn't? biden isn't?

Low information voters - emotionally knee jerked by msm voters.

Cal, the article references things that pissed off LaTourette,  gridlock by his own party.

There's gridlock today.

I think everybody should complain about it.

The point is there's no compromising. Party over country, instead of REPRESENTING constituents is the main problem.

I can certainly understand disillusionment with what's in a party. Still I think it's just that people are not naturally happy and are stupid enough to think that a political party can make them so. Also stupid enough to believe that politicians are working hard to make their wives better. They are, like everybody else, working for self-aggrandizement.

Policy-wise I wonder what anybody really believes? When Democrats are out of office they oppose illegal immigration. They call Republicans racist because they don't want illegals flooding the country. What kind of BS is that? Giving b l m a free pass while constantly screaming about Phantom White supremacists. Are any of you current or ex Democrats good with that? What bothered me is when Republicans had all three areas of government and didn't do anything about spending. Liberals don't seem to care about inflation because they like spending somebody else's money and don't care. But it is real. Especially for any of us old enough to remember the size of a bunn candy bar. If you are a kid the 2-inch diameter version is all you've ever known. Freedom is just a story that your grandparents bore you with.

When party becomes more important that the nation.

And for the most part I liked the direction of Donald Trump better than I like the direction of the Republican Party and a hell of a lot more than the direction the Democrats. Unfortunately there is no viable third party oh, the closest we had was Donald Trump and the powers that be constantly conspire against him.

Now, Bob. That is not true. He was upset with "gridlock" by both sides. The trouble is, the dems are far, far corrupt left, and the republicans are conservative...and liberal/moderate/frightened weinies........

which side is MORE anti-America, Bob??? Who caused the division he is talking about?

Maybe the ones who want America to be a socialist country, ya? Maybe the ones who demand control over speech, eh? Maybe the ones who condone antifa violence, eh? etc etc etc.

" Ohio's Steven LaTourette told MSNBC it's more difficult for a reasonable person to get re-elected to Congress because "the red districts are turning redder and the blue districts are turning bluer." "

******************************************

gridlock now means the left wants to destroy America and the rest of us refuse to let it happen in 2022 and 2024.

Meet in the middle???

let them permanently only destroy half of America? that isn't called meeting in the middle Bob.

Work with the left? Gee, why didn't Jews "work with the nazis" ?

Just makes no sense to me.

May as well ask republicans to negotiate with Islamic terrorists and only let them

take half as many Americans prisoners....

So while you, I, and many many others aren't happy about current policies, do you honestly believe the Rs have all the correct answers?

If so, you have to realize that's utterly ridiculous.

The article I posted regarding LaTourette, he specifically stated he was upset with the "Tea Party insurgents." Also said " if all they are going to do is vote no, we could elect monkeys to do that."

My opinion, both parties are whacked, and it's making the average Joe citizen whacked. Media coverage & social media aren't helping either.

of course I do not believe the reps have all the answers, Bob. But left has no good answers. They have corrupted the FBI, DOJ, NSA, CIA, etc. and some reps are without any legit merit as human beings.

Trouble is, I don't know of any dems that are not that way, cept for a few. whatshisname in WV for one.

The current division in our country is on the worse scale in our recent history. I could never stand Latourette, because he never stood for anything, he just went with the middle and "made friends" on both sides. Some of his votes were atrocious, some not.

Yes, he criticized the Tea Party folks. That was stupid - I've been to Tea Party rallys a few times  Wonderful patriotic people. Not extremist in any way. Just decent folks. Latourrette was a loser. That is why he had to quit. He had no principles, just wanted to be popular with both sides of the aisle. When a politician tries to be everything to both sides, he ends up being nothing to both.

That is all I'm saying. Again, negotiating on freedom, "meeting in the middle" means you give up half your freedom? That is Latourrette. sp? Nope. And so many said "nope" he had to quit.

IOW's....some things are worth fighting for. That is why we are a free country today.

Those before us FOUGHT, BLED and DIED for that freedom. The dem left is SO far left, it's time to tell them NO.
