》  Just curious question,  how many of you watched////listened to the --》2022《--  Cleveland GUARDIANS   -and-    by how much ?  TODAY'S GAME  IS GAME 22   Sunday May 1st, that's 13.6% of the season so far.

A.  I  watch or listen to almost every game.

B.  Tune into most games when I have time.

C.  Eh, maybe 50/50 when I have time.

D.  Almost never.

E.  Do not watch Cleveland or any MLB.

Thank you for your input.

I can tell you  being retired I've watched all or part of every  Cleveland Guardians game this year.  And d'uh I kind of run this TRIBE Forum and have followed Indians baseball for decades now.  It kind of comes easy for me now, I also listen to the TRIBE when I'm in the car.

TRUE story I was out with my then fiancee in my truck... May 15, 1981... some 40+ years ago, we had the Indians game on the radio.  Well through about 4 innings  it was a good game and we were headed to her house.   Got in and turned on the TV,  I was planning on having dinner there with her parents.  Then it was getting real interesting  !

It was Len Barker's perfect game.  You never know what you will see any day watching baseball or any sporting event.     ;)

The above question is about viewership which in many ways is linked to attendance, you know butts in seats.

A lot of it of course  is about how successful the team is on the field.   People like winners it's that simple,  the more a team wins the higher the viewership and attendance.

The last time the Clevland Indians  led the AL in attendance was 1999 and 2000 right after that hot decade  of the 1990s.   The last time before that was 1948 they only had 8 teams in the  AL the last year they won the World Series.   That surprised me too !

Well let's go back over the last 40 years and check it out for ourselves.

We are coming up on Games 26 & 27 a Saturday May 7 a traditional DH  first pitch is at 2:10 pm EDST.

I've still seen all or part of all 25 so far,  Guardians (12-13) still a young and coming together team. Remember Tito's teams have always been second half teams, hopefully the best is still yet to come.  A few close games so far only 15% done in now.

Have you seen or listened to any tribe baseball yet ?

love baseball and the Tribe and Ive lived away from Cleveland most of my life.

up until the internet - you had to pay up for cable or dish or whatever swindle they pitched...

I will watch if its free or  will pay for tickets when the Tribe comes to town to destroy the twinks...

Ive been a transistor radio kid since the late 60's and understand the economics of it all - TV revenues etc

today I use MLB .com for game info - video replay (free)

but still feel like pro sports in general has left us cheapskates behind.

Oh yes, I got a Summit  8 transistor radio with case and strap that I'd put on my bed post  -and-  a 9v power supply for my 13th birthday in 1963.  I used it every evening and night time the internet of its time.  I was into amateur radio since about 1962 to about 1970 so amateur and AM radio was a big part of my early life.   In the evenings and overnight you could catch "the skip" and get amateur and AM radio from far away.

In the car you could catch baseball from all over, I remember listening to the TRIBE on WKBN in Youngstown coming home from Florida and St Louis coming back from Pittsburgh one evening.

On AM from Niles Ohio there was WLS Chicago and WBZ Boston as my favorites.  My first real DX on amateur radio was F9EP a fellow amateur from France on the 15 meter band, I had a 65 foot tower 15 and 2 meter bands you could work all over the USA and worldwide 🌍 on 15M, plus I had good 80, 40, 20 meter antennas for those bands.

Radio was the internet back then.

I know there are alot of baseball fans who may have just lost interest in the game for one reason or another.

And then there are those of us who follow the Tribe through thick and thin ( alot of thin..)

I wanted to be a player and felt i had legitimate skills to do so - but life happens and things changed for me...

I rarely (really never)  look at todays baseball players and admire them as I had as a youngster,

when the players were older and times were simpler.

But watching the game is more like a sense memory of those great years past.

A few years back, I met Jack Hannahan  who lives in StPaul - but was the 3rd baseman for the Indians for a while.

he was friendly and shared some stories, one in particular about Miguel Cabrerra (detroit) who plays "better" when hungover..

I had the chance to utter a few words (in return to the effect) of It must be great to live the dream as a baseball player.  To which he said yes it is!

I used to play little league in Brookside Park (next to the zoo) when I was a little kid.  Used to take the bus 10 cents from Storer ave and W47th to downtown and walk to the stadium.  Things were different then, and cheap even for a kid.    They had Cement benches that went all the way up to Denison Ave.  Minor league ball used to play there which you could watch for free.

★ Different but probably a whole lot better than maybe any time in our country's history.

The winning of WWII over Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan the other 20th century and beyond the exemption.

Forming of our Republic as the guiding light.

Wednesday July 6th after the game.

Coming up to the 2022 All Star Break do you watch the Cleveland Guardians any more  the same or less.

This young Guardians team is playing at a 40 /40  .500  pace with the season half over and in second place in the AL Central.

Personally I think they're doing pretty well  a)l things considered.   How about you  ?   And I'm still an A,  I've only missed all or part of  ONE games this season.....no kidding.     :)    Game number 81 coming up.

~       Same question for the 2023 Cleveland Guardians  team.   Some starting pitching problems   -plus-  finishing  DEAD LAST in anyone who could actually hit the ball over the fence.

Looking forward to  the 2024 season  should be better than 2023 ...... that's easy.  Wait until we see what comes rolling out of the Spring Training.

- GO 2024 Cleveland GUARDIANS-      ● Until then GO BROWNS  ! ●
