mjp28
★ The AFCN News ★ A lot of activity in what should be a good division in 2023. The Pittsburgh Steelers emerged from the 2023 NFL Draft as one of the more improved teams, which did not go unnoticed by the rest of the AFC North. Now that the draft is over and some teams have turned their sights to fine-tuning their rosters, several of the Steelers' rivals may be set on adding some high-profile players for their 2023 campaigns. One good thing for the Steelers: The Steelers are one of only four teams in the NFL that will get to open the season with two straight home games. First they'll get a 49ers team that could be still having QB issues, and then in Week 2, they'll get a Browns team that still hasn't found its footing with Deshaun Watson. Cleveland Browns One good thing for the Browns: One positive thing for the Browns is that starting in Week 11, they'll play six games in seven weeks against team that didn't make the playoffs last year. That span includes games against the Broncos, Rams, Bears and Texans, among others. Basically, the schedule is set up for the Browns to have a strong finish. One bad thing for the Browns: The Browns' season could be over before it starts and that's because they play three divisional games in the first four weeks of the season, so they won't be able to afford a slow start. They're the only team in the NFL that will play three divisional games in the first four weeks. Baltimore Ravens One good thing for the Ravens: The Ravens could get hot coming out of the gate this year. In the first eight weeks of the season, Baltimore will face seven teams that didn't make the playoffs last year. One bad thing for the Ravens: Things could get ugly for the Ravens beginning in Week 11. Starting then, they'll be closing out the season with six games in seven weeks against teams that finished last season with a winning record (Bengals, Chargers, Jaguars, 49ers, Dolphins and Steelers). The Ravens are also one of just five teams that will have to play a three-game road trip in 2023. Cincinnati Bengals One good thing for the Bengals: Starting in Week 3, the Bengals get to play three consecutive games against teams that combined to go 16-35 last season (Rams, Titans, Cardinals) with all three feeling very winnable. One bad thing for the Bengals: The Bengals better make sure they win those three games mentioned above because things get ugly starting ▪︎~▪︎~▪︎~▪︎~▪︎~▪︎~▪︎~> More AFCN News to follow.
mjp28
Oh BTW ......One bad thing for the Steelers: The Steelers have to play three of their final four games on the road and their only home game in that span is against the Bengals. That's definitely not an ideal way to end the season. That stretch includes two straight road games to end the season, which makes them one of just four teams that has to play its final two games on the road. A good thing to hopefully bury the 2023 Steelers season.

mjp28
Odds to Win 2024 Super Bowl LXIII, why not ? This is far and away the NFL futures market that attracts the most action in terms of bets taken and money wagered. Casual bettors often are drawn to Super Bowl futures so they can bet on their favorite team and turn a tidy profit if said team were to cap a magical season with a championship. Conversely, so-called sharp bettors get involved in the Super Bowl futures market for one reason: value. If they believe strongly that oddsmakers are selling particular teams short, savvy bettors will pounce on them. This 2024 Super Bowl betting favorite is the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs. Sportbooks released odds for the winner of the next Big Game the day after Super Bowl LVII. Here’s a full odds list for all 32 teams heading into the 2023-24 season: Kansas City Chiefs: +600 San Francisco 49ers: +700 Philadelphia Eagles: +750 ● Cincinnati Bengals: +850 Buffalo Bills: +850 New York Jets: +1400 Dallas Cowboys: +1400 Miami Dolphins: +2500 Los Angeles Chargers: +2500 Detroit Lions: +2500 Denver Broncos: +2500 ● Baltimore Ravens: +2500 Jacksonville Jaguars: +2800 ● Cleveland Browns: +2800 New Orleans Saints: +3500 Seattle Seahawks: +4000 New York Giants: +4000 Las Vegas Raiders: +4000 Minnesota Vikings: +4500 - and the long, long shots - ● Pittsburgh Steelers: +5000 Chicago Bears: +5000 Green Bay Packers: +5000 Los Angeles Rams: +6000 New England Patriots: +6000 Washington Commanders: +6000 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +6500 Atlanta Falcons: +7000 Carolina Panthers: +7500 Tennessee Titans: +8000 Indianapolis Colts: +10000 Houston Texans: +20000 Arizona Cardinals: +20000 Odds from DraftKings. Subject to change. ● Posted May 15, 2015 ● Trends of note: The last 10 Super Bowl winners have won at least 11 regular season games, including the defending-champion Chiefs, who went 14-3 in 2022. Think the Chiefs can go back-to-back? History suggests that’s unlikely, as there hasn’t been a repeat Super Bowl champ since the New England Patriots in 2003-04. It’s also probably unwise to make a Super Bowl futures bet on a team that wasn’t very good last season. Since the 2009 campaign, only the Philadelphia Eagles (2017) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2020) hoisted the Lombardi Trophy after winning fewer than 10 games the previous season. (Both went 7-9.) Share this story Share this on Facebook (opens in new window) Share this on Twitter (opens in new window) SHAREAll sharing options Photo by Nick Cammett/Getty Images The Cleveland Browns were obviously unhappy with their defense last year. It started with the firing of DC Joe Woods immediately after the season ended and continued through free agency, the NFL draft and this weekend’s (reported not official yet) trade for DE Za’Darius Smith. The defense, along with the putrid play (based on his past, expectations and trade/contract compensation) of QB Deshaun Watson led to a last-place finish, a full two games behind the Pittsburgh Steelers, in the AFC North. Despite that, Pro Football Focus ranked the Browns No. 9 in their power rankings last week. With the Cincinnati Bengals the top-ranked team in the AFC North and the Baltimore Ravens one spot behind Cleveland, three of the four teams in the division were ranked in the top 10. Somehow, PFF’s newest ranking, looking only at the team’s roster, has a different order with the Browns having the worst roster in the division at No. 14. Published before the Smith trade, it is interesting to note where they saw the team’s biggest weakness: Biggest weakness in 2023: Defensive Line Aside from Myles Garrett and Dalvin Tomlinson, there isn’t a ton of depth on the Browns’ defensive line following Jadeveon Clowney‘s departure. The Browns will look for players like Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and rookies Isaiah McGuire and Siaki Ika to step up and take some of the pressure off their star defenders. As we shared through a FanShot, PFF is high on the Smith acquisition so maybe the Cleveland roster would be able to catch up to the Steelers (12) or Ravens (8). The Bengals are ranked as the third-best roster in the NFL. While different authors were in charge of this ranking and the power rankings, it is interesting to see the difference between the two. For Browns fans, concern remains with HC Kevin Stefanski and Watson’s return to greatness. PFF notes Watson in their “X-Factor” section of the roster rankings and takes the under on 8.5 wins for the team this season. Cleveland has a lot to prove on the field before respect will be earned at a national level. With talented teams in the division and conference as a whole, 2023 will be a slugfest. Many Browns fans think the roster is ready for it but PFF wasn’t buying in before the Smith deal.

Win two of those 3 in the N with a minimum 2-2 record after 4, then we might have a real team. 1 out of 4 and it's tank city for the Texans #1 choice again next year. My fear is that Jimmy comes unglued, panics and then crashes the team entirely once again for restart # what?

I maintain the Browns aren't that far away from the top. A frustrating 7-10 season last year certainly had some potential to be 11-6. The key is motivated players and better in-game coaching decisions. They have enough talent.

mjp28
Need a laugh ? UH-OH ! (May 27) - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett experienced a moment of panic when his SUV, containing the team’s playbook, was stolen earlier this week. Fortunately, the vehicle and playbook were swiftly recovered, and an arrest has been made in connection with the theft. According to a report by Marcie Cipriani of WTAE, Kenny Pickett was attending an event at a car dealership near Pittsburgh on Wednesday when his 2023 Genesis SUV was stolen from the parking lot. Disturbingly, the Steelers’ playbook was in the backseat of the vehicle at the time. Law enforcement authorities wasted no time in their efforts to retrieve the stolen SUV and the crucial playbook. (lol) The suspect responsible for the theft had left his own personal vehicle at the dealership, which allowed the police to identify him by running the license plate. Within just 30 minutes of the theft, the stolen car was located at the suspect’s residence, resulting in the swift recovery of both the vehicle and the playbook. Subsequent reports from WTAE indicate that an arrest has been made in connection with the theft. Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 obtained court paperwork related to the incident, shedding further light on the situation. (60 ? Really ?) The suspect, identified as Christopher Carter, a 60-year-old resident of Murrysville, has been charged with theft. To their surprise, they discovered the Steelers playbook in the backseat, containing valuable personal and strategic information. As news of the theft spread, the Pittsburgh Steelers organization confirmed to Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that their playbook had been left in the stolen SUV. However, they reassured fans that the playbook had since been recovered, mitigating the potential risks associated with the theft. Kenny Pickett, was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his rookie year, he made 13 appearances, showing signs of progress as the season unfolded. Despite struggling with a 6.2-yard average per attempt and throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, Pickett demonstrated potential and will have the support of a talented skill corps for the upcoming 2023 season.
