Kingphisher
Cleveland and NE Ohio have been hit harder than most areas in this tough economy. I think that people need some happiness and hope from rooting for their favorite teams. I think Browns fans are no exception and we deserve better than we have gotten the last 20 years. I think we are finally going to get a taste of it this year. I really like our chaces of going 9-7 or better if we get some solid play out of Quinn and the running game. The defence is better, as is the O-line. I can't wait for Sun! Go Browns! (Sorry, it's just the hope and excitement pouring out).
The Gipper
I also think Tribe fans deserved more than we have gotten as well. Up 3-1 with just one game to get to a very easily winnable World Series, and they tank? That one lost situation changed the whole complexion of that franchise and sent it into a downward spiral. At this point the Browns need to step things up and bring respectability back here to Cleveland, though no championship run should be considered. (though, remember, one year the Rams went from 4-12 to Super Bowl champs!!). And beyond the Browns, there is the absolute expectation that the Cavaliers need to win the NBA title...fair to say? (And, just out of curiosity, does anyone out there consider the Columbus BlueJackets to be "our" NHL team....the one that Clevelanders should follow and support?) The Gipper
Rooney is now ambasador to Ireland. and is spending almost all his time there now. Does that mean the Steelers will soon start to get worse? It is hard to say. What is easy to say is that the Steeler's lovable old man, Art Rooney Sr. was not much at putting together a winning football organization. He went 40 years and that team did zilch. When Dan Rooney took over, they began their championship run. His organizational capabilities I believe were the key to their success (Like when we had Paul Brown?). Now, Dan Rooney's son, Art Rooney III, I believe is pretty much the CEO of that team. Steeler fan can correct me if I am wrong. I am not sure when that transition took place, but, yes, I am assuming that now that Dan Rooney is Ambassador to Ireland that he certainly will not be handling day to day operations of the team. Perhaps Art Rooney III will live up to his namesake and just be good at smoking stogies and patting his players on the butt. I don't think we can count on that however. DawgTracker
Maybe when Lerner stops watching soccer and pays attention to the team we might get somewhere. It is true that if the browns had an owner who watched the games and told everyone what to do we would have it made. We need . . . . . Al Davis, he watches the games and tells everyone what to do
Gips
I believe this regime and the team want to and are ready to deliver victory to cleveland we are in a new era of browns football and my outlook for the browns future is no longer grim but very optomistic i see all the subtle signs that mangini is going to bring us a champion caliber team sooner rather than later a team whom will develop an identity right before our eyes and take an unexpecting nfl by suprize.... I am Irish, and I visit Ireland all of the time. One thing I can say is being the ambassador to Ireland is like...well the easiest job in the world. It requires about as much effort as I don't even know if there is anything that easy.
