WPB Dawg Fan
OK, I'll play...but I think we should do like we did last year and put them in our signatures. Anyway... 1 Sep 13 MIN @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (Favre implodes) 2 Sep 20 CLE @ DEN Invesco Field at Mile High WIN (who is the QB?) 3 Sep 27 CLE @ BAL M&T Bank Stadium LOSS (on the road...) 4 Oct 04 CIN @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (home is enough) 5 Oct 11 CLE @ BUF Ralph Wilson Stadium WIN (slipping every year) 6 Oct 18 CLE @ PIT Heinz Field LOSS (we are not ready yet) 7 Oct 25 GB @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSS (GB looks scary good) 8 Nov 01 CLE @ CHI Soldier Field LOSS (in CHI...enough said) 9 Bye 10 Nov 16 BAL @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (paybacks) 11 Nov 22 CLE @ DET Ford Field 1:00 PM WIN (Detroit???) 12 Nov 29 CLE @ CIN Paul Brown Stadium LOSS (paybacks...bummer) 13 Dec 06 SD @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSS (still top tier) 14 Dec 10 PIT @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (learning to defend home turf) 15 Dec 20 CLE @ KC Arrowhead Stadium WIN (KC???) 16 Dec 27 OAK @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (Oakland???) 17 Jan 03 JAC @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN I guess that makes it 10-6 I think Baltimore slips out of playoffs. I could see additional wins against JAC and BUF, but I could just as easily see losses to PIT, BAL, and MIN. Either way, I see 9-7 and possibly wildcard but most likely missing out on the wild card to Baltimore in the tie-breaker.

We may make it by virtue of easy schedule. Two thing: 1. I do not do these sorts of predictions so you won't see one out of me. 2. I am not a preening optimist for the Browns. Those things said, I look at your list and I find myself saying that these results you post are certainly feasible, especially as you say if the Browns learn to defend home turf. You are giving the Browns 4 road wins, but they are against what should be really bad teams: Detroit/KC/Denver and one potential mediocre team: Buffalo. You don't have them winning in Pee-town, B-more or Cincy. OK. Steeler fans may yip: "you can't predict a win against us, you haven't won in blah, blah, blah many games". But what those knuckle draggers don't know is that in fact the Browns have taken it on the chin in some very close games against the Steeleroids the last 3 years: 10-6 last year, 31-28 in 2007, and 24-20 in 2006. It was feasible that any of those games could have been turned around, and so can a game here be turned around. The biggest upset you have is this week's Vikings game. I am looking at another game on that schedule that I may trade for the Viking game: the Dec. 6th home game against San Diego. The Chargers are having issues. LDT is waning I believe in his talents. Shawn Merriman is somewhat of a mess of a human being with his troubles. And it is December and the Chargers usually hate the cold weather. Basically what I am saying is that your list is not a reach in my opinion. A favorable schedule helps.

mikebrancato
Not one for predictions but gut feeling is a competitive 6-10. I believe the ManKok team is the real deal but given injuries and lack of depth we will be average.

Louisville Slugger
I can't see us winning more then 7 games. I have my money on 6-10. I like direction were headed in but we have far too mant holes to even consider ourselves in consideration for the playoffs. The olb position needs a legitimate starter. Both safteies need to be replaced. Elam is a stop gap and pool has too many injuried. Outside of an inconsistent edwards we have no receiving threat this year. Rb is still a question but james looks promising so far. Our right side of the ol is pretty ugly. On top of all that we have an unproven qb. One more offseasaon and I think well be on the verge but truthfully I don't see us as contenders. Ill be cheering to the end and hoping I'm wrong about all of this. Also I don't see our schedule being all that weak. Our division looks solid and cincy looks vastly improved. green bays might win the nfc. Minn is very good. Buff is dangerous. Hou has been getting better year after year. it seems like a rough year so like I said earlier we are headed in the right direction so for the first time in years there is a real hope. I'm excited about that. What do I know tho anyboy can win any given sunday.

Vegasdogg
My Outlook: 1) Since we returned we have not finished games we could have won. We just don't have a culture here of winning. We don't have a talent base where one guy goes down and his backup performs. We need to learn how to finish, and also develop depth. 2) We can't do a lot of things well. We cannot stop the run, we cannot run the ball. We cannot rush the passer, and except of a few good performances we cannot stop teams from passing when we want to. All in all, we've lacked the ability to impose our will on teams. Certainly not on good teams. We stopped Indy, but scored 6 pts. We haven't had balance. I want to impose our will in one of these areas. Just one and move forward from there. 3) Not having a starting QB for 10 fooking years sucks. It is what it is, and we have to try and move forward. But that position needs consistency. We don't have it. 4) Okay, if I see more pathetic tackling this season, I want the DC fired. LOL. I am serious, though. I saw A Hall and K Wimbley do some things this preseason in the run game that excite me, and I want to see more of it. The DL can seriously be the best we've had in the 3-4, and depth doesn't seem to be the issue. LB'ing? Well that is another story. 5) Safeties. They make the AFCN what it is recently, and we have journeymen. Nuff' said. 6) Please, please, please play the rookies that can make a difference. Don't sit these guys and wait 4 years. Don't make Jerome Harrison sit. He matters to this team. So starting today make it a point to play Francais. 7) Ignore the Cleveland press at all costs, good and bad. They're not to be spoon fed, and with the exception of a few, they all need to be looking for jobs. 8) Do me a favor, don't kick a fooking FG when you're down 5 at home against Pittspuke. Ever again! I mean EVER. That needs to never happen again! 9) Play to your strengths. If you say you'll pass on a team that sucks against the pass, do it. And vice versa. It sounds smart, now just deliver on that strategy. Don't run on the Vikes or pass on a team that is good against the pass. You said you wouldn't, so don't. Back up what you said. 10) You can do this. You don't have to be the Ravens or the Steelers, but you can be the best Browns team right now! Stay focused on each week, buy into the coaches and schemes, execute to the best of your ability, and stop making this about the FO and HC, and start making this about you players. We have been begging for YOU players to step up, so it is always going to be up to you. Overachieve, because this is where it starts. Don't confuse respect for you opponent with intimidation. Build the foundation for winning TODAY. Be the intimidator!! Keep studying film, but when the times comes to making plays, then make the plays. Let it all hang out, and I promise you we'll back you up 150%. Play your damn hearts out every play of every game, and you'll know the love of being a Browns player. We're not stupid fans or fickle fans. We want hard play and we know you can do it; we'll know it when we see it. Good luck. Can't wait until kickoff. KardiacKid26
I think there are 9 winnable games but im going with 7-9. It'll be an improvement from last year, but we're still missing those pieces on the D. I also think we'll beat Cincy twice, lose both to Shitsburgh and split with Baltimore
Gips
11-5 Within the first five games or so our offense is going to jel and kick it into high gear and our defense will be adequate to keep us in the game... But more importantly we are going to be tough ,tough ,tuff and poised to do some serious damage in the afcn over the longhaul...every year a couple of teams come out of nowhere to shock the league and the browns are certainly in a position to be one of these... Revising after seeing the offensive gameplan to 7-9...

DeadWombat
Several weeks ago i predicted that we won't win more than 11 games. At this point, i see no reason to change that prediction. Thats a very, very, very safe prediction. 1 Sep 13 MIN @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSE (We can't stop AP worth crap) 2 Sep 20 CLE @ DEN Invesco Field at Mile High WIN (Denver has too many issues) 3 Sep 27 CLE @ BAL M&T Bank Stadium LOSE (Flacco is somehow still going strong) 4 Oct 04 CIN @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (Despite palmer being back, they can't rally for a win) 5 Oct 11 CLE @ BUF Ralph Wilson Stadium LOSS (This could go either way IMO) 6 Oct 18 CLE @ PIT Heinz Field LOSS (They piss us all off again) 7 Oct 25 GB @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSS (The packers impress without Favre) 8 Nov 01 CLE @ CHI Soldier Field LOSS (... and so do the bears.... both are strong teams) 9 Bye 10 Nov 16 BAL @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (We have ourselves a bit of an upset.) 11 Nov 22 CLE @ DET Ford Field 1:00 PM WIN (Poor Detroit) 12 Nov 29 CLE @ CIN Paul Brown Stadium LOSS (Cincy improves their shaky start) 13 Dec 06 SD @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSS (They pound us on the running game) 14 Dec 10 PIT @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium LOSE (They STILL piss us off again) 15 Dec 20 CLE @ KC Arrowhead Stadium WIN (The chiefs have a lot of work to do) 16 Dec 27 OAK @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (Al Davis died 7 years ago and his corpse is used as a puppet controlled by strings and motors) 17 Jan 03 JAC @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium WIN (real close game, but I see the the Brownies improving over the year as Davis and Cribbs develop.) That makes us.... 7-9 and a chip on our shoulder to be a stronger team next year. Sounds about right to me. There are so many unknowns with our team though so I wouldn't be surprised to be a win (or even two) off the mark either way.
