I actually read about a third of the Bible, however, I didn't realize reading the Bible was a requirement to practice being a good Christian. I also don't attend church every weekend though I'm always trying to get my kids to go with me. Actually, I don't even manage to go more than once a year. Doesn't matter though as your opinion means zero to me. I live a better Christian life than most people who do attend mass every week. I honestly don't even know the difference between testaments but there's so much in the Bible, I can cherry pick all day long if I see fit. Why not after all, it seems you like to cherry pick from it.

You can quote the bible to say anything you want it to say. That is kind of the point. Those who cheery pick parts to justify hating people are the real gems. Protestant Christianity has zero to do with living a good Christian life. It is not a religion of good works. There are only two requirements, believe Non-Cheetos Jesus is Goooood and repent. That's it. You could be a child raping murder. As long as you believe in Jeessssuusss and ask him to forgive your child raping/murdering you are good to go to heaven.

The ignorant slurs have been going on a long time. Years ago, someone crabbed at me about why I thought God existed, and was a Christian.

I told the story about how I fell into a spring in our woods in single digit temps when I was in the fifth grade. A true miracle saved my life.

Being that it's the Old Testament is not spin, nor is it cherry picking there Cheetos.

When Christ came along things changed. It is what is known as The New Covenant.

I would think that at least you'd be able to understand why Christians call themselves "Followers of Christ." 

Along with the death penalty for homosexuality and incest being abolished, the eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth went out the window. So did the dietary laws and restrictions, and the act of mandatory circumcision.
