OconRecon
http://www.cleveland.com/ohio-sports-blog/...urlacher_o.html Report: Chicago Bears' Brian Urlacher out for the season, will miss Nov. 1 game vs. Cleveland Browns by Starting Blocks, The Plain Dealer Monday September 14, 2009, 11:18 AM AP Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (12) throws a pass with Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher applying pressure Sunday night. Reporter Vaughn McClure writes in The Chicago Tribune that Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is out for the season. Urlacher dislocated his right wrist during the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. When asked about his status Monday, Urlacher said in a text message that his ``season is over.'' He was scheduled to undergo surgery Monday morning upon the team's arrival back in Chicago from Green Bay. A dislocated bone had to be surgerically put back in. The surgery might have revealed more extensive damage. The Bears will host the Cleveland Browns on Nov.
NigelTufnel
No matter how angry some of us may have been over yesterday's game, I bet the Chicago fans are a million times more pissed off. The "first real QB" they have sucks and one of their defensive centerpieces is out for the year. Egads.
dencyguy
Obviously it can't hurt the Browns, even though one doesn't want to see any player get hurt. A minor editorial point: who's the genius who thought that it was necessary to include "will miss Browns' game" in the headline? Having attended many a football game, I know that there are a number of football fans who aren't the brightest bulb in the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, most of them could figure out that a guy who's out for the year won't be playing in a game a month and a half from now. I mean, even if the writer felt the need to remind Browns fans that this impacts the team, maybe a sub-headline: "Urlacher out for the season" (enter, enter) "Bears play Browns November 1."
