CLE  5-4 top 6.  Looks like an offical and CLOSE game all of a sudden.  Another  BALKed in run.   GEEEZZ.

Great start to the season so far.

I'm afraid Mckenzie is heading to IR. They're going to have to go out & get somebody in the rotation.

Remember when the  starting  pitching eas the strength of the team ?  Then the bullpen ?  And  it's only  GAME 19 with 143  to go.

Helluva start to the season... and we have some potential good bats coming to Cleveland in the future with 1B Kyle Manzardo and OF Chase DeLauter.

Bad news is it appears Tristan McKenzie's throwing elbow is a ticking time bomb.

Today is the Guardians last game ever vs the Oakland Athletics, per se.

The A's will play the next three or four years in Sacramento. Not sure if they will still be known as the Oakland A's during those years?

The Traveling A's on the move again.

I can remember as a kid the Philadelphia Athelitics  beseball cards and then the  Kansas City A's  before travelling to the West Coast and the  Oakland A's.

And soon to be a whole new brand of A's.   The last one ?

It's funny, growing up most of us would never think we would see a professional sports team in Vegas.

In three or four years, we will have a Las Vegas football, hockey and baseball team.

Still not sure how they are going to shoehorn a domed stadium for the A's in Lost Wages on a 9 acre plot of land.

Oh yes !  Bad enough boxing being a  "sport"  associatted with "the Mob" and crooked fights  the NCAA and then the professional sports  vowed that they would  never, ever  have a team in  "Lost Wages" Nevada.

I for one thought it  never  would happen,  especially football or baseball.   "Never say never".

ATL 6 -  CLE 2, final.  On to GAME 2 of 3  on Saturday.

ATLANTA -- — Chris Sale shook off a homer on the seventh pitch of the game and Marcell Ozuna kept up his torrid start with two more RBI, leading the Atlanta Braves past the Cleveland Guardians 6-2 Friday night in the opener of a series matching MLB's two best teams.

The reigning NL East champion Braves won for the 10th time in 11 games to improve to 18-6, pushing them a game ahead of the AL-leading Guardians (18-8).

Sale (3-1) surrendered a homer to the very first hitter, Steven Kwan, whose 389-foot shot down the right-field line bounced around in the Chop House restaurant. Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. barely moved as Kwan circled the bases with the third leadoff homer of his career.

That was pretty much it against Sale, who gave up only one more hit while going seven innings for his third straight start. He walked one, struck out six and threw 67 of 95 pitches for strikes.

Ozuna erased Cleveland's tenuous lead in the fourth with a double to left off Logan Allen (3-1) that brought home Austin Riley and Matt Olson. Both runners reached without benefit of a hit — Riley walked and Olson was hit by a pitch.

Ozuna now has a majors-leading 31 RBI on the season, the most ever by a Braves player before the month of May. He had been tied with Dale Murphy  -->  CONTINUED  in  ESPN's  game recap.  -->
