We had kind of a rag-tag OLine at some points against the Giants.  Small wonder why the offense could do nothing.

The Browns apparently were caught off-guard by the Giants - who aren't a heavy blitz team - but did blitz them 51% of the time Sunday.

They better get used to it. Conklin, Wills and Hudson are all hurt. Bitonio is now forced to play Left Tackle, and I have this nagging feeling Father Time has started to catch up with him at his regular guard position - where he's been a borderline Hall of Famer. Now he's forced to play outside at Left Tackle. Teller is gone for the foreseeable future, with a rookie coming off a pretty bad injury from last November.

With a QB who does not look comfortable with the offense, who holds on to the ball sometimes too long, and now sees "ghosts" when it isn't there because of getting the shit kicked out of him for three weeks.

Defensive coordinators would probably hold a "Fight Club" to get a chance at us right meow.

(twisting your meaning a bit)

We were built to win now.  Except, now is slipping past us.  How much time does Hospital Ward have left with us?  Conklin?  Bitonio? (as you stated)  -  We don't know about Chubb.  DLinemen stars are getting older...

If our OLine is as decimated as it appears then we are screwed.  The OLine is what allows your offense to work to it's potential. (whatever that may be)  If your OLine sucks then your offense will suck.  If your offense sucks then how are you going to score points in order to win games?

Yep.

We have the second oldest roster in the NFL. Some of that is based on quite a few older veteran players we signed on short deals, but that also is because of players like Garrett, Bitonio, Conklin, Chubb, etc.

The best thing that could happen to the Browns is for Watson to get nailed with another case against him, and the team to be able to cut him and void the rest of the contract. Then, you start rebuilding.

There's no getting around this - they've watched Wills sand bag every year but the rookie season.  He'll milk last year's knee injury as long as he can, which is fine with me because we upgraded him last year with an previously unemployed FA at the time.  Bitonio, who would never dream pf playing LT at hos Offensive Guard weight/girth has to do just that.  He's the least of all evils today there; but he'd be the first to tell anyone he didn't condition for the LT position from the onset of this past offseason all the way up until today.  I'm not re-post what I already posted about it in another thread. Last thing on the oline, I've completely changed my mind on the idea of seeing what Dawand Jones could do at LT wouldn't hurt.  Let's get that big feller back to playing RT the way he did last year, which means getting out of his stance on time to be effective. I know he's coming off injury like Wills and Conklin; but he's the 1st of the 3 that practiced and tried to come back.  He just looks like he's very out of shape right now.

The best way to handle this 17 game season is 1 week at a time making sure we understand the team on paper every off-season is never the team we end up needing to count on in the regular season. Many years, not even close. This year isn't an exception to that rule. It's the rule.

Remember all my bellyaching about why they signed Crablegs instead of Justin Fields?  Pittsburgh is 3-0.  The reason I wanted us to sign the guy at the NFL version of Walmart prices had nothing to do with because he played at Ohio State.  It had to do with his age, untapped talent and how much of a safety plan it could all be when/if Watson failed. Pittsburgh outsmarted Cleveland.  I've been watching Pittsburgh do this for as long as Linus has been waiting for Great Pumpkin to show up in the pumpkin patch.  Yeah, they could have worried about Russell Wilson's feelings like the Browns did with Watson; but Crablegs doesn't look like he's got any Joe Flacco magic in him any time soon.  They'll play leap-frog with the unicorn again next year by firing more assistant coaches instead of FO roaches (like Depodesta).  Yeah, it's time to say bye bye to that guy. The problem is we'd be counting on the same guy to hire an upgrade...

Back to 1 week at a time. The season is only 3 weeks old.  What do you say Brownies?  How about a little sic em, sock em and sack em?  "Sic who?"

Well said & this sucks.

I don't think Tom Landry, Paul Brown, Chuck Noll or even Andy Reid could fix this now. If Stefanski gets to 6 wins, he might finish 3rd or 4th in the COY vote. I hate this.

We've been (the fans) cautiously optimistic, but after 3 weeks it doesn't look promising at all. A magical 2023 is way back in the rear view mirror.

I'm 100% anti-DePodesta. Get this guy out of here.

Zinter was put into action against the New York Football Giants and inserted at right guard. His Pro Football Focus overall grade was a 58.6 which was slightly higher than LG Joel Bitonio (54.5), C Nick Harris (52.1) and LT Jed Wills (51.9) and tops among all Browns offensive linemen. He had a pass-blocking grade of 65.3 and 54.1 in run blocking.

That sucks. Hope he snaps back next year. I guess it’s rookie time, see what the kid from Mi can do.

I've had this nagging feeling that this would be the last season of the Bitonio and Teller Show at the OGuard positions, it sucks that it might have ended prematurely.
