Orion Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Look at these offensive (offensive = two meanings) numbers. Pathetic. We lead the league at being sacked. And we can't eek out 100 team rushing yards. But with all that said, Watson's only thrown 3 INT's. And one of 'em should've been a completion to Cooper...that bounced off of him and went high into the air. On D we're allowing a lot of rushing yardage. And the Eagles run the ball fairly well. We do, however get a DT & LB'er (Hurst & Diabate) back from IR this week. We're 25th in the league in rushing. Ford is not a terrible RB. ---- 5.2 sacks per game. That's not all on Watson holding onto the ball too long. ---- These are indications of a poorly functioning offensive line. We've seen this before. We've lived this before. One of the few things that Butch Davis said that he had right, 'Until we fix the offensive line, nothing will change'. Quote
bbedward Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Im too busy to do a film breakdown, but on the glimpse I’ve seen there seems to be way too many plays where Watson has wide open guys and doesn’t see them, or scans only half the field and misses the rest. And accuracy issues that haven’t resulted in INTs but maybe just because they’re so far away from all of the players including the defense (lack of turnovers is about the only bright spot) The OL is performing poorly, particularly the right side, left side actually looked pretty decent last week. This team is screwed, if the Seahawks cook us this week it’s time to build draft picks and rebuild. Our guys are old, washed up, and overpaid now. Time to salvage some picks out of them and let Watson ride out the tank job (assuming we drop to 1-5…) If we win I’ll still hold out some hope until we get into division losses. Quote
PackerNation Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 Again, I was sticking with the Browns and don't like shitting on a team I like, but I just am kind of over the Browns for this season. I want them to do well, but I couldn't give a shit at this point. Part of it is that I don't feel Stefanski is capable of turning things around. Some think he is great, that some is not me. Stop with the excuses for nearly every coach the Browns have had. Most owners meddle. There have been coaches with meddling ownership that have been successful. You just need the right head coach. I think the Eagles steamroll them. I hope I am wrong. I don't think -8.5 for the Eagles is enough. Bet the Eagles for this one, if betting is your thing. Quote

Ibleedbrown Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 A more normal looking TV map this week. All of us Buckeyes, save for our forsaken Buckeyes in Van Wert county get the Browns this week. And you can pretty much drive an arrow northeast from there up to Maine. The capital of Maine always reminds me of that conversation you have with your buddy the next day after he gets lucky on a date. Me: You go out with that girl last night? Buddy: Yep. Me: Bangor, Maine? Buddy: Yep. Me: *initiates fist bump* Aaaand for some reason New Mexico and Texas are all in on the Browns this weekend. I’m sure the folks in Houston love checking in on the albatross they unloaded, and Albuquerque is the site for both Breaking Bad and the High School Musical movies so obviously they have quirky taste. https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2024&wk=6 1 Quote

I think the reason may be your fandom and the fact winning would quiet some of the naysayers. I hope your "reason" helps the Browns get the win. Though I don't share your sanguine outlook, I respect it. I feel good about the Packers vs. Arizona as well. Quote

Ibleedbrown Posted October 10 Report Posted October 10 I just realized Houston is the one part of Texas not getting the Browns game. Oops. I guess they’re done watching Watson… Quote

PackerNation Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 5 hours ago, Orion said: This is something that the Eagles have done with us many times in the past. The Browns are 1-5 vs the Eagles going back to 2000. If you go back to 1963 to 1979, then one could wonder if the Eagles "looked past" the Browns during that time. Not likely. The Browns had good teams during that time. Some good games in there during that era. Quote

Orion said the Eagles have looked past the Browns "many times." That would mean the Eagles have lost to the Browns many times. Losing to a team is the result of looking past a team. Again, the Browns are 1-5 against the Eagles since 2000. I don't believe the Eagles will be looking past the Browns Sunday either. Hope I am wrong. Quote

Stefanski refuses to. That is Stefanski wanting to do the same thing over and over again, and expect different results. Insanity! And frankly, I am over witnessing insanity on a weekly basis. Fire him today! Quote

Orion Posted October 11 Author Report Posted October 11 Six Browns have been ruled out for Sunday: Nick Chubb, Nyheim Hines, Grant Delpit (2nd on the team in tackles), Ethan Pocic (the OL hit again), Ronnie Hickman, James Hudson III. There are 7 teams with just one win. And none of them are playing one another. So we'll have to lose just to keep pace. (obviously I'm strategizing for 2025) Quote
Jax Posted October 12 Report Posted October 12 It definitely sounds like the Browns are in for a bad match up but I'm going to keep the faith. As long as KS can find a way to keep the ball moving and buy DW some time. Quote
