This is a nerdy math equation.

There are 126,230,400 seconds over 4 years. Yes, l accounted for leap year.

Over 158,000,000 people voted for President in the 2020 election. We’ll call it 158 mil even for this equation.

That means, if your vote was a unit of time over the course of 4 years, it would be roughly .8 of a second if rounding up.

Or, depending on what state you're in, 5-10x seconds or 0 seconds

You lost me.

You talking electoral college? Of course that plays in to it.

Yes, talking electoral college. That's the joke.

If you want to equate what your vote is worth in time you need to apply the relative weight by state because of the electoral college

We can do that. The results still aren’t super impressive. In Ohio, 5,922,202 people cast a vote for President in 2020, so if their vote was a unit of time over 4 years it would be worth 21.32 seconds.

But then you need to adjust the weighting based on Ohio's number of votes in the electoral college. A vote in a lower population state is worth more relative to a vote in a higher population state.

You could take it a step further if that state is solidly blue or red. In that instance you could argue the vote for the opposing party is essentially worthless

Of course he did. The Harris campaign is trying to walk the middle here to get moderate voters without losing progressive voters. They're trying to play it safe, unfortunately.

Pointing out the clear and obvious inadequacies of the electoral college is too radical for many. Again, unfortunately.

No matter what happens this election the electoral college is a broken and outdated system

Play what safe? If it's such a great idea why would they need to play anything safe?

I think what you mean is, of course they're not going to admit they are nutballs and lie about being middle ground.

MAGA!

Arizona Democrats close office after three shooting incidents (thehill.com)

Arizona Democrats closed their field office in Tempe, Ariz. after three shooting incidents. The office served as a base for the Sun State’s congressional campaigns and Vice President Harris’s presidential effort in recent weeks.

The Tempe Police Department said the latest incidents on Oct. 6 involved gun shots fired at the Democratic campaign office at around 12:30 a.m. They said no one was inside the building. Officers are now looking for a silver Toyota Highlander with an unknown plate, which was seen on the premises.

Lauren Kuby, a state Senate candidate in Legislative District 8, told USA Today that candidates and staffers quietly moved operations to an undisclosed location to ensure the team’s safety.
