Orion
2024 Battle of Ohio - Part 1 In a nutshell, the Bengals are good at passing. That pressures the defense...and puts points on the board. The Browns are really bad at passing. That doesn't pressure the defense and doesn't put points on the board. (and that was when they HAD Amari Cooper) What else do you have to know about this game? One team is trying to right their ship, get back on track and get back into the playoffs. The other team is just trying to limp their listing wreck back to dry dock for repairs. The OL has Wills & Conklin back...but they've been out for an entire year and are trying to get back into the swing of things. Zinter at RG is a work in progress and, do we know who will be playing Center this week? The offensive line has been THE main problem of the team this season. It's like a ship with major holes in the bow. 31 sacks in 6 games. 5 sacks per game. Everyone wants to blame Watson for the offense. But you can't pin the 26th ranked running game on him. Or, perhaps we can blame it on the RB's so that we can take the OL right out of the excuse equation. I am no Watson fan...but the fact is even with Cooper leading the league in drops, Njoku only just returning to the lineup, no running game, constant pressure & sacks, Watson's numbers have been improving each week...completion pct., QB rating, and only 3 INT's...I find that amazing. - Perhaps he's a bad QB... not good at reading defenses enough to know where the D dictates the ball should go...but I don't see any of our backup QB's doing any better behind our dysfunctional OL. Nor do I think Mayfield would be any friggin' good either. Stef says that he's staying with Watson. I agree that it's the smart thing to do. The organization absolutely has to find out for sure what they have in Watson. How does he handle a season like this? Does he continue to improve his play throughout the season like the numbers have shown so far? And, if for whatever reason, it's determined that he's not the guy going forward, then giving DTR some games would be prudent in covering all bases for the offseason strategies.

Ibleedbrown
Here’s that tv map for the week. Pretty limited on who gets to see this one unless you’re in or around Ohio. Except for Van Wert…ugh. The Battle of Ohio part 1 looks like it will capture the hearts and minds of about half of KY and PA, and most of WV. And for some reason Baton Rouge, LA? Yeah you get the Browns this week too. Baton Rouge means red baton in English, in case you were wondering. https://506sports.com/nfl.php?yr=2024&wk=

He can't but rarely throw the long ball accurately, so they have him throwing short quick throws. That doesn't work in the long run, he makes decisions slowly, and beating the bliitz with accurate long balls isn't in his skill set. With the defense playing more to stop the quick throws, the running game suffers since the passing game is not doing well. It's sad - with a huge upgrade in the wr group, watson is putting the oline in dire straights more than the oline isn't doing it's job. Just my two cents. Mayfield would have been a gigantic improvement. The Buc's oline is rated #17, and the Browns oline is rated #23, in this article: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/cleveland-s-mayor-estimates-the-browns-decision-to-build-a-new-stadium-could-cost-the-downtown-30-million-every-year/ar-AA1stwZP and Mayfield has grown.
