Vambo Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 Browns insider gives sad update on young star | Sporting News November 15, 2024•4:23 pm EST Cleveland Browns fourth-year linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah suffered one of the season’s scariest injuries two weeks ago when he left the field with a neck injury in the upset win over Baltimore. Despite being placed on injured reserve, news has suggested the 25-year-old is okay. But there are serious doubts whether the second-round pick can continue his NFL career, according to Mark Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. “But the Browns haven’t said much since then about Owusu-Koramoah, who was placed on injured reserve for a minimum of four games and is likely lost for the season," Cabot wrote on Friday. "As it stands, no one has said if he’ll be able to resume his NFL career, and at the very least, he’ll have to undergo another extensive round of scans before he gets back on the field.” Owusu-Karamoah was on track for another breakout year with the Browns, registering three sacks in eight games, including 10 tackles for a loss. His absence has left the Browns’ middle defense thin, but there is good news ahead this weekend with 10-year veteran linebacker Jordan Hicks due to return against the New Orleans Saints. Cleveland’s pass rush hasn’t struggled through injury, led by Myles Garrett, who is among the top Defensive Player of the Year candidates with seven sacks next to his name. 1 1 Quote
ballpeen Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 Sorry to hear. Makes one wonder if his wearing the bubble helmet from the get go meant he felt like there was a problem from the get go. 1 Quote
calfoxwc Posted November 17 Report Posted November 17 that is sad - he was one of my favorite players since the draft. Hope he is ok - and that he has no lasting effects. Quote
