calfoxwc Posted December 31, 2024 Report Posted December 31, 2024 each one is like a movie - it's longer than just a show, and I'm intrigued by the actors talking about the characters they play, and how some scenes were done. LIke, last night (on record, of course) - they talked about how the ocean/tugboat sinking was done - the two of them were stranded on top of the overturned tugboat. They said they went into swim training, the tugboat was actually built and constructed to flip over - IN A POOL where they had pro scuba divers, etc. One of the amazing aspects of Yellowstone 1923 = it explains how the Yellowstone Ranch came about to be in the early generations. Harrison Ford, other serious major actors, actually every single actor - they were excellent. It was easy to forget they were acting in a movie - just watching the story. In the early days, there were ranch wars, over sheep and big money men who wanted to own and develop the entire range in Montana for the wealth and power, which they never had enough of, and they paid to get rough guys to help them force out ranchers and their land. The story line is fascinating, to see how the expanse of electricity, cars, gas stoves etc, spread into the cities, how the ruthless, cold blooded murders would do ANY thing to get their way. Harrison Ford, head of the ranch gets nearly murdered by several gunshots from merenary raiders, but barely survives. His wife, played by a very famous actress herself, asks her military retired son to come back to Yellowstone, from S. Africa. where he lives with his beautiful girlfriend - their journey back to Yellowstone is DRAMATIC. I LOVE the story, I love fast forwarding through the commercials. Caveat - the shows violence is, at times, overwhelming - my Wonderful Cute Wife won't watch it. The violence is a bit much. Not just shootings etc, but......... let's just say you wouldn't want to be an American Indian young woman in a religious sick cult. I never cared for Beth Dutton on the other show, just to over the edge vicious and nasty. Didn't seem real, and her slimey brother, nearly the same. I love the show, but the violence is extreme for some folks, and it didn't add to the story, imho. I'd give it a B+ anyways. Quote
