OconRecon
UPDATED: Vikings are 5-0 Broncos are 5-0 Ravens are 3-2 Bengals are 4-1 That's a 17-3 record for the teams who have beaten us. Q: Why doesn't that make me feel any better? A: Because we've looked so bad? A: Because our only win is against the 1-4 Bills who lost to the winless Dophins last week? It seems like it should make us feel a little better, but it just doesn't. ============================================================ Vikings are 4-0 (assuming Favre continues his flawless performance) Broncos are 4-0 Ravens are 3-1 Bengals are 3-1 Yes, each one gets a notch in his belt for beating the Browns. The thing is, it doesn't really make me feel any better knowing this. Quinn couldn't extend his leash with a good game, or even a good quarter DA, now with nearly 30 starts, has only once beaten a team with a winning record. We're eventually going to have to beat teams with winning records.

Yes you have to beat winning teams to be successful, but there is a lot of rebuilding to be done on your team. Patience and practice will eventually lead to perfection, give it a bit of time. I have no problem giving it more time.

WaltersJohnson
<<DA, now with nearly 30 starts, has only once beaten a team with a winning record.>> Quinn didn't do well in big games at ND <We're eventually going to have to beat teams with winning records.> Why do you say that? The Browns stink, eventually has nothing to do with improving. We could stink like this for years.

We're eventually going to have to beat teams with winning records. WOW. Even I thought DA was better than that. Pathetic. I still say draft Eric Berry next year, the Browns won't be paying DA. Bring in average to below average FA QB next year, and we'll still be improved at the position by 10 fold.

It's only about half as pathetic as he'd have you believe. DA's beaten a couple of winning teams, as well as a team or two at least that ended up 8 and 8 after losing to the Browns. Still not great, but it beats the heck out of beating only the worst teams in the league like most of the last 4 years without him.

The Browns stink, eventually has nothing to do with improving. We could stink like this for years. To make it to the playoffs and win in the playoffs, we have to beat winning teams. Or we can continue to be a < .500 team indefinitely. (We've already stunk for years, going back to the 80s)

Mark O
It makes me feel better about the way we played against Cincinatti...they are a fluke play away from being 5-0 and we had them on the ropes. We played Minnesota tough for 1/2 and looked shitty against Baltimore and Denver. It makes me think that this team isn't nearly as bad as the way the season started off.
