THE BROWNS BOARD

Seriously... Can we reward Cribbs' already?

I understand there is one golden rule in business. Like it or not: one must honor his contract. I believe in this.

Well, as a Browns fan, I'm not letting this rule affect my better moral judgement. It's time to pay Josh Cribbs damnit and lets do it soon.

Mangini and company are rightfully washing out the selfish divas in this organization with guys that want to compete and love the game. It's the Patriot way and I like it, but with all the fines, rules, and iron fist tactics, the best way to unite this team around Mangini's way is to reward the guys who are doing exactly what you want them to.

Cribbs' is the identity of what we want Brown's football to be. Unselfish, a team player, and versatile enough to play multiple roles and develop into something special on the offense.

Imagine if Braylon found out the same day he lost his spot to Massaquoi vs. the Bengals. Think he would have been the first guy to slap Masses' shoulder pads or the guy that absolutely blew up the field on special teams? Start restructuring his deal soon and reward this guy. Out.

I think they should offer him 50 grand per kickoff that makes it past the 50, after any penalties. And 50 grand for any TD scored.... Keep the contract the same just add nice incentives until its time to restructure.

I'd like to see how Cribbs is paid compared to other ST specialist (that is all Cribbs ultimately is)

I'm not saying he should be payed like a first rounder but lets get serious for a second... who deserves their paycheck more, Heyward-Bey or Cribbs?

so whats this based on now....his projection at playing safety?

Nope..IMHO, it's based on Cribbs being a Coaches (AND fans) dream....Willing to play ANYWHERE, GREAT attitude, TOTALLY unselfish, a FANTASTIC teammate, AND super productive.

I have stated this before...I would LOVE to see Cribbs at running back, but the key to him is that no matter WHAT he is asked to do, he does it to the absolute best of his ability. THAT kind of player deserves to be rewarded.

End of sermon!

Mike

I think we may have already given him more money. Cribbs is the kind of guy who could keep his mouth shut about it.

Contracts have to be reported to the League, and then they become public. Media would be all over it. No way this kinda thing would stay quiet this long.

Cribbs just got the contract and bonus he deserved..He was crying for Devin Hester money..Fact is Devin Hester.. CAN ACTUALLY PLAY RECIEVER.That's why Hester got the bigger deal. He is the #1 option in Chicago... Cribb has not proven that and is now going on year 4.. He is getting what he deserves.. He is an excellent special teams player and is being paid accordingly..

As for recieving stats..easy to compare..let's look at this year.

Cribbs, 4 games 9 catches 39 yards Zero Td's 4.3 average

Hester 4 games 19 catche 189 yards 2 td's 13.5 average..

It's not even close man. He is getting his..
