He replaces Phil Trautwein, who today was signed to St. Louis’ 53-man roster. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Indianapolis Colts on April 30, 2009, Cloherty was released from the Colts’ practice squad on September 29. As a junior, he recorded career-highs with 41 receptions for 549 yards and two touchdowns, as he earned second-team All-Ivy League honors. A native of Bethesda, Md., the 6-2, 245-pound Cloherty attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C.
