osusev
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2008 ... table=true This article really helps flesh out Mccains international stances on Russia and the middle east. I have always thought Chuch Hagel was admirable but even more so after reading this piece.
SiperBowl
and Hagel is disgruntled, tell him to get over it! McCain wants to protect America at all costs. and he wont let the UN interfere. big woop, really not much of a story.
osusev
what in your opinion is wrong with Hagel's approach to say Russia and the Balkans? I dont see him as angry at Mccain more fed up with the oversimplification of Repblican right neocon policies in a very complicated multi lateral world. The Neocon poliicies are more akin to checkers whereas Hagel and others like Powell or Obama want to play chess. We cant Isolate Russia who is an important net exporter of gas and oil to europe, Mccain and his simplistic antagonistic approach toward Russia is an example of how the current administration functions. I think that Hagel and Powell are examples of what the Republicans could and should be. Their approach to international policies is much more thought out.
