Mistakes that lead to this

Next year should be a different looking team again, with 11 picks and FA (No one good will play here) they should have a 40% roster turnover, this is pathetic the best player on the team has scored 6 tds in 5 years and has 22 catches in nfl career for a 8 ypc average and 5 fumbles and 1 int, the top 5 mistakes since coming back to the nfl

1. Drafting Gerard Warren over Ladian Tomlinson

2. Hiring Mangini to quick, could have had Gruden

3.Gave up to much for Quinn

4. Not seeing Jamal Lewis was past his prime this year and not drafting a RB in top 4 rounds (LaShawn McCoy)

5. Trading down to draft another center in first round (Alex Mack) when they wasted a 1st rounder on Jeff Faine a few years ago, gave up the chance to draft Crabtree or other impact players

1. Totally agree.

2. Somewhat agree. Should've played the market a bit more than settling so quickly for Mangini. Don't want Gruden though, he is overrated.

3. Looked brilliant at the time, but in retrospect, it was quite a bit that we gave up. Atleast it wasn't a top 10 pick though

4. Completely agree on this one. While I still wanna give James Davis a chance, I felt that this years RB class was very strong and we could've snagged a more NFL ready back early on instead of wasting picks on project players (Veikune, Robiskie)

5. This is the only one that I do not like. First off, Faine has actually developed into an above average center. We just didn't have the patience to keep putting up with his growing pains. Second, there is no way in hell we would've taken Crabtree. And if we did, we prob wouldn't have signed him to a contract. We already had one diva WR, we don't need another one. Third, Mack is gonna be a staple on this line for years to come. You gotta build in the trenches first, then add your playmakers.

But I do agree that we need to get atleast 2 playmakers this offseason, whether by draft or FA

Dude:

LT's pretty much done. LT/Warren's effects would have dissipated by now.

Gruden's last three years at TB and Mangini's three years with the Jets are virtually identical. In fact, Mangini had one more win and started with a worse team. Gruden was a LOSING coach by a pretty decent margin over his last six years in Tampa Bay.

You REALLY think we would have won even ONE more game sticking with Quinn? He'd be $11 million richer. $11 million that could be used to improve the roster. That's it. Quinn still has 7 games to show something. He'll have had 10 1/2 over the season. Truth is, if Quinn would have been making all these starts we'd think he's even worse because we'd lack a comparison base.

What's your point with Faine? He wasn't on this roster. OPie made the decision to dump him, what three years ago? If you want to talk about making a mistake at center is was letting O'Hara go when Fowler and Faine were drafted. But none of these things are in the top 5 mistakes that effect this current team.

To figure out what is wrong with this team, just trace Phil Savage's draft and free agent history. That's all you need to do. They guy spent 5 years compiling a shit sandwich and somehow people expected Mangini to come in and fix it in one offseason where he had only 4 draft picks?
