I'm going to go through and give brief descriptions about all the players, and edit this over the course of the off-season. samoth
If we could get Suh and Spikes at 1 and 33 I would consider that an extremely successful draft.
Louisville Slugger
Id hope Jerry Hughes falls but Spikes would be amazing. I cant believe he has fallen so far because of the eye poke. I have no problem with what he did, Id tell him to make sure hes in a pile next time so no cameras catch him. That stuff happens on almost every play, its apart of football. Just like lineman throw forearms to the throat or players spit in other players ear holes.(which really sucks because you cant take your helmet off unless you go off the field). All of those things happened to me so I know it goes on in those piles.
The Gipper
If we could get Suh and Spikes at 1 and 33 I would consider that an extremely successful draft. Yea, I would be dumbfounded of Spikes is there at #33 for the Browns.
Alo
Nice work. I'd move guys up or down depending on the type of defense we're running next year, but that's a very good overall list. And I think it's very likely that Spikes will be available at the top of the 2nd. Injuries have affected his play this year, and he's got character baggage that could scare off some teams. I think he'll get picked somewhere around where Maualuga got picked last year. And to me, he's a much better 3-4 ILB prospect.
Alo
I'd have Brandon Graham rated higher, though you may have his draft stock pegged correctly. Not quite sure yet what position he'll play at the next level, but he's a great pass rusher. And unless Damian Williams goes out and runs a 4.6 40, I'd have him much higher than #50. I would tend to agree about Williams. His spot at 50 isn't really meant to be degrading to him, but with all the underclassmen most likely coming out in this draft with the unknown status of the CBA, there's just so much depth in the draft. We're in a great spot to use some of our picks to trade up into the 2nd and 3rd round and get good talent, still. I do like Graham, and many of those tweener DE/OLB's are interchangeable. Graham is in the same mold as his predecessor Lamar Woodley, who is now raking in Pittsburgh (unfortunately). Like I said, this is a very premature list, and my main purpose was to get a good amount of names out there for mock draft purposes and to get people thinking of different prospects. I'll be adjusting this on a regular basis, as well as expanding it to 100, 150, 200, and then 250 closer to draft time.
Thaak
where's Ingram?
BigBrownsFan
If we got Berry.... and Spikes is gone...... look at Bowman from PSU. After finally healing after his groin pull that basically kept him limited for the first six games, he started to disrupt the offenses he played against. Kid has a set of wheels... and has room to put on another 10 lbs.
calfoxwc
14. Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama- 6’5 360 DaBrowns41 ************************************************ I think Suh is the real deal, the #1 player in the draft, too. Well, it's probably very popular - he's a game changer, a force. I was watching Cody play for Alabama - he's a huge, wide run stopper - but did anybody else notice that he also lined up in the backfield on offense as a FULLBACK? He DID, no kidding ! He pulled a FRIDGE ! I was thinking - if the Browns win a few games, and end up picking say, fifth... and Suh, McCoy and Berry were gone... the Browns could trade down, get another first rounder later, nab 8. Derrick Morgan*, DE, Georgia Tech- 6’4 270 14. Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama- 6’5 360 I think Derrick Morgan will be a star, we don't know if he is a more easy switch to 3-4 olb or not than Wimbley. And Cody would let Rogers play DE in the front three rotation and extend his career... though Rogers would probably still start at NT... With the added second first rounder.... 28. Johnathan Dwyer*, RB, Georgia Tech- 6’0 230 33. Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida- 6’3 251 35. Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State- 5’11 193 24. Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee- 6’3 325 Just wonderin..... tampadawgs
34. Jason Pierre-Paul*, DE, South Florida- 6’5 262 This guy is a monster, live in Tampa watch him play all the time his wing span is Retarded and he jumps threw the roof. At the combine he will rise alot, but if we get him in the 2nd it would be great
hoorta
where's Ingram? Ingram's only a soph- not eligible. PS, I'd be interested in others take on UC's Tony Pike- I just told one of the UC homers if he gets drafted in the second round, he'll be lucky. My bet is fourth round. DaBrowns41
where's Ingram? Ingram is a true sophomore. He's not eligible to be drafted until 2011.
samoth
IMO here are our needs: DL, S, CB, LB, OT, OG I think the only offensive players we should draft are RG and RT, and if by some insane twist of fate, Toby Gerhart if he somehow falls to the 3rd round (not going to happen). We have a lot of youth in offensive skill positions, but our defense is godawful, injuries or not, and needs talent infusions at every position except NT. With a draft as deep as this one, it very well could happen. There are a lot of pretty good RB's coming out as well, and teams may not be sold on him, just yet.
