Bush closes the gap

Public Policy Polling:

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

No, not really, but other polls show a seriously declining of support for this "president".

He is just a socialist professor-communist mentor-racist pastor engineered manipulator.

I'm not sure, but I don't think he has ever solved any kind of problem in his life.

Hasn't solved any kind of problem as pres...

But I am glad he sent the troops in. Trouble is, the rules of engagement reek of

liberal politics and pandering, and wasn't based on personally held values. He has none.

polls...... ahhh yes because he has three more years..... unemployment IF it goes down significantly in the next two years and we get out of Afghanistan, and GDP goes up and business start hiring his numbers will go thru the roof.

his numbers were bound to lower right now, lets see where he is this same time next year.

right now, Sev, Obamao plans to lower taxes on small business for one year.

That's very Reaganesque of him. But it's only for one year. Long enough to

not alienate voters in 2010...

But, libs hated Bush for lowering taxes, and Obama is allowing the Bush tax cuts to

expire.

But... he's going to lower taxes but he is instituting policies that will make

our cost of living skyrocket in energy, and across the board.

but... we'll see how it all plays out.

But the American people, most of them now, have seen enough to know Obamao

was a huge mistake.

first Cal to compare the terminology of Tax cuts are being the same in application as the "tax cuts" Bush did is inaccurate and totally misleading..... there is definately a difference in amount/levels/permanent to temporary, focus demographic etc.......

Lowering tax cuts when you escalate spending and increasing defecit while taking away controls is totally different than when we are mired in a recession and YOU HAVE TO INVEST MONEY TO MAKE MONEY to get OUT of the Recession mainly caused by the republican...... the tax cuts to the top 10% is vastly different than a temporary moratorium on capital gains or small business adjustments to hire.....

Is there also a political agenda and element? YES they were elected to fix the Bush/Republican financial/geo political debacle.... the sheep want results ASAP regardless if it realistic... it is what it is that does not take away from the narrative.

Here lets simplify this: Wall street in the 6000's, Banks Failing, GM and Chrysler dying, hurtling into a full blown DEPRESSION....., the World hates us.... In ONE year Banks stabilized and now buying each other, Massive Tarp pay backs and INdy Mac and others back into private hands, Wall street in the high 9 to 10k in trading, GM and Chrysler competing, slimmer and surviving, Depression averted, World opinion GREATLY changed........ O lets not forget that by first quarter of Next year they will Overhaul Health care to some degree.... something not done in DECADES.... Not to mention putting controls back into a consumer watchdog agency..... IF jobs start coming back the Right wing is screwed the narrative will paint you as a naysayer, white, out of touch minority that stood in the way of the reforms that put our country back on track.....

Hell IF we pull out of Afghanistan in some meaningful way this guy might get the constitution changed to three terms.

well diehard.... I think it is unlikely we leave afghanistan unless it is a vietnam type of pullback which is what I suspect.

We are still in Germany/Japan for gods sake and every else...... I think Americans probably dont realize how totally Colonial/Imperialist we look.... think of all of the bases in other peoples countries virtually every continent and patrolling outside of their countries.

I do think we leave a year before he goes for reelection in some sort of PR "win" personally.

Actually Sev, you may finally be right about something.

Obamao is an Un-American, politically racist animal.

LBJ wasted thousands and thousands of lives in a politically cya bent of attrition.

I can see that Obamao is so dishonset, he will do the same thing.

"Yah" we won now, because we have to get out even though we haven't won, because

I want to get re-elected."

How sick is that. And how tragic. And to defend Obamao for all he's done to damage our country so far?

Sev - you said it yourself - if you disagree with Obamao you are a WHITE so and so.

Obamao is purposely trying to divide this country based on race, and economics. He is a

criminal manipulator, in that how he couldn't care less about America ... is a crime against American humanity. @@
