We could go back and call every title game in history a "Super Bowl". The Super Bowl part of it don't mean dick. That is just a marketing name, like Defending K-Mart Blue Light Special champs, or the Insight.com Bowl champs. In fact, I am surprised that the NFL hasn't sold the naming rights of the Super Bowl or the AFC and NFC Championship games. Rest assured, someday it will come. Then perhaps a comment can be made that "one thing you can't say about the Steelers is that they have never been the Jack Links Beef Jerky Bowl Champions. If you don't think the league wasn't highly competitive in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, how about we let you try to tackle Bronko Nagurski. He was a 6'2" 230 pound running back. Or Marion Motley, he was 6'1, 240 pounds. Those guys were the same size, or bigger than the likes of Franco Harris. How about we let you play blocking dummy for Chuck Bednarik. He was a 6'3, 235 pound middle linebacker. Ray Lewis is only a 6'1" 240 pound MLB. Bednarik could knock someone's head off better than Lewis could...ask Frank Gifford. Or how would you like to stand in at QB when 6'4" 250 lb. Len Ford was coming after you. That is the same height and weight as today's rushing ends. Kameron Wimbley is only 6'3" 255. (the difference is sizes is ONLY with the OL , and interior DL from the 40s to now. Only the guys that could put on fat. I don't think a Steeler fan like that could actually do math that sophisticated. You probably have to spell it out for them: The Steelers have been in existance since 1933, and have 6 titles. 77 years of existance divided by 6 equals the 12.83. The Browns have been in existance since 1946 and have 8 titles. Take out the 3 years of inactivity, and that is 8 titles in 61years or 7.625. Now, if you actually go back to the origin of the NFL in 1920, and you take the 13 Championships the Cleveland area has in those now 90 years, you get on title every 6.92 years, the best ratio in the nation. (and actually, it is probably better than that since we could take out the 3 years in the 90s where there was no team, plus several years in the mid 30s when Cleveland didn't have a team) While it is true that this area has been giving all the other cities in the country plenty of opportunities to close that ratio gap, no one else has quite done it. Only Green Bay which has a title once every 7.41 years comes close. Dallas could come a little close. They have had 6 titles in 50 years, or one every 8.33 years. As you may not know, the Championship game wasn't renamed to the Superbowl for some time after the browns joined the NFL. So technically the browns have 4 superbowl wins, but due to venacular, they are championship games instead of superbowls. the only difference is naming conventions. If we don't recognize the AAFC champs, then we can't recognize the NFL champs either. And again, you sound like a perfect candidate for a dose of Zyklon B.
