The Gipper
Do you think this Joe Haden is a guy the Browns should have their eye on for their 7th overall pick?
The Gipper
Also, last year Ohio State would have had like 5 guys in a top 100 list like this. This year, just one, Gibson. Do you think that bodes well for the Bucks: that all their good talent is coming back?
DaBrowns41
Do you think this Joe Haden is a guy the Browns should have their eye on for their 7th overall pick? Berry could drop just because he's a safety. Berry, McClain, and then Haden, IMO. You never know who's going to slide up into the top 5 (Spiller, Bradford, Okung, Anthony Davis, etc.). As for the Buckeyes, of the 10 juniors that declared, I only would have had 3 of them ranked in the top 100 (Boren, Heyward and Gibson), while the rest would have been lower. Guys like Chekwa, Browning, etc. would be 6th or 7th round picks if not undrafted. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. We're still obviously a talented team. I just don't think we're nearly as talented as we were earlier in the decade.
mopaji
What do you guys know about this Dwyer kid? He's exactly the size you need in this division. Quick feet? Fumbles? breakaway speed? Injuries? Could be the ideal feature back with Davis and Jennings in the rotation. (I didn't mention Harrison because I think he'll be tendered and moved out). Can you see us moving down to get him and stockpiling picks? With our caproom, and the fact that there are still quality CBs and OL in the 2nd round, is he worth moving down to get? Help me out here, I'm not a fan of college ball so I only know about 3 of these names on the board.

Squintz
I like the top 10. Take out Clausen, push Haden forward and move Dez Bryant up. I think at 7 we are in a really good position!

hoorta
Do you think this Joe Haden is a guy the Browns should have their eye on for their 7th overall pick? 1) Amen, +1, natural fit at a position of need. 2) the Jags are on crack if they draft Tebow in the first round. 3) May be able to get a decent wr @ the top of round #2. 4) If Pike falls to the 3thd round, may be enticing, didn't notice LeFevere anywhere on that list. Do you really think we should take another receiver with our 2d round draft pick? I'm thinking if we go DB in the first round (Berry, Mays, Haden), the the DL would be a priority for round 2. If this Rolando McClain slips to #7 shouldn't we seriously consider him as well?
ballpeen
I am not sure we would make decisions based on positional needs, but no doubt McClain will be a player we consider. I don't think any, or many of the consensus top 12 players won't get a serious look by the brass. Take away the guys you figure will get drafted before we make our selection and we are probably down to 3-4 serious contenders....with both Hayden and McClain right up there since there is a realistic chance both will be there...you can probably add in a QB or two, and maybe one of the O-linemen. I agree we don't need a WR. After this year we'll know what we have or don't have. But I don't think a DL on the first day is necessary. Mangini can coach up the DL and we have a few good ones already in Rogers, Rubin, Smith, and Coleman. If we take one, it should in the 5th or later as a project. We need CBs and a RT. If we can solve those two issues in the first two rounds, than give me a QB in the 3rd. Damn, I'll be happy. However, it is too soon to anticipate what we'll do as Tommy's plan seems to be to address needs through FA first. Now that we have cap room, Holmgren, Heckert, Mangini, and a 4 game winning streak, we should have a real easy time bringing in any quality FAs that may be out there. including QBs as they will most likely be starting here. OK, a Corner, Safety and RT would be selections of need for our first two picks.....yes, if there are qualified people of value at those positions there to select. But, I repeat, who is out there in FA at positions other than QB that we should consider?

The Gipper
OK, mopaji. Thanks for that list. I guess that is why we as fans need to let the likes of Tom Heckert do their job. I would not have a clue as to who on these lists would be worthy of pursuit to play for the Browns. I am assuming....and hoping that Heckert does have a clue. ballpeen
Much is going to depend on what happens to the labor situation. If we go uncapped, FA terms turn to 6 years which would probably eliminate 80% of the players listed since now players qualify for FA after 4 years of accrued service.
