TheClevelandSound
http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/...tinue_mana.html BEREA -- Browns President Mike Holmgren has raided the Green Bay Packers of a long-time front office employee. Holmgren has named Mark Schiefelbein vice president of football operations, reported the Milwaukee Journel-Sentinel. Schiefelbein started with Green Bay as a public relations intern in 1989 prior to Holmgren even becoming Packers coach. Schiefelbein was director of football administration/communications with the Packers since 1999. The appointment continues the restructuring of all Browns franchise operations under Holmgren. Unlike Bill Parcells in Miami, Holmgren is responsible for all departments in Cleveland -- not just football operations.
sisky fringo
sounding more and more like we have some people in place that actually have a clue how a football team is built. just thinking about the collective knowledge that has entered the Browns organization in the past year or so...they now have soooo much insight into so many other teams, not specifically for competitive advantage but just to have knowledge of all these other team's business models to draw from experience-wise, and how their teams are (or in some cases were) structured. just to name a few ( & i'm sure i'll miss some): Seahawks, Packers, Eagles, Dolphins, Raiders, the 80's 49ers, the 90's Giants, the 2000 Patriots, the entire Browns legacy, even the 86 Bears...with extensive jedi training in the Walsh, Belicheck, Ryan, and Parcells cultures. there's a shit-ton of knowledge circulating that building right now boys and girls. definite justification for excitement. TheClevelandSound
Definitely an exciting time to be a browns fan. I feel like Holmgren is "stealing" other teams staff lol.

kcorbsk
Holmgren has tried to lure these exact people away in prior moves and for one reason or another - they were not available. This time he was able to lure both Bryan Wiedmeier and Mark Schiefelbein away from their teams to join him in Cleveland. Good job!

Or is this just a new title created for this Schiefelbein?
